Went in for the first time and it’s such a cool vibe. Love the roof. Sam was a super cool guy and bartender. The half-priced grilled cheeses were amazing. We will definitely be back! 10/10 would recommend.

Red Derby is just one of those cool neighborhood bars that never disappoints. Cheap drinks, good food, and a super chill vibe — nothing fancy, just the right kind of comfortable. The rooftop’s awesome when the weather’s nice, and the staff always keep things easy. Perfect spot to unwind and grab a few with friends.

Red Derby is just the kind of bar we all ask for, cheap beer, good food, and vibes.
(My only complaint I miss when it was a exclusive “cash only” bar. For me, “cash only” keeps that night life vibe going. Dropping $100 – or $200 – has that nostalgia for a Saturday night.).

Prob the best time I had in DC was at this place, super dive and by dive I mean no disrespect, just a cool place that had a killer playlist and good cheap drinks! Great place whether you go with someone, a group, or solo… you’re gonna be there and have fun and meet people… mixed crowded, young and old…

Great bar with rooftop vibes – but the rooftop is not an open ceiling but the lighting and height of the ceiling gives that same airy feeling. Dive bar, good for big groups. The downstairs is even good for a date as it’s kind of tight near the window.

Excellent neighborhood bar perfect for after work drinks or an afternoon or evening catching the game. Roof top bar space more for the party atmosphere while main level bar provides the ideal dive bar feel. Wide on tap beer selection and prices from pabst to eclectic micros of all types. Top shelf mixed also available. Nice food and app choices although we highly recommend the taqueria next door. Wearing a tie or torn jeans, you’ll fit in either way

Great dive bar. Their rooftop is second to none. It’s a vibe. Drinks are relatively affordable and they have board games. The appetizers are pretty good too. Would recommend the Mac n cheese bites.

Super friendly and welcoming bartender. Great atmosphere, some games in the corner (scrabble, trivial pursuit, maybe 10-15 others) and even some books. Nice back room for private events and a rooftop as well. Didn’t try food but drinks were good and vibes were great!
