I was very disappointed with this meal. One of the tomatoes served was clearly showing signs of mold or fungus, which is a serious food safety concern. Serving spoiled produce puts customers’ health at risk and shows a lack of proper quality control. I hope management addresses this immediately by improving ingredient inspection and food handling standards.

(Raised in Peru) This Peruvian restaurant is hands down one of the best in NJ, beating Harrison, Kearny, and Paterson. I always love to recommend this place to anyone looking to get the most authentic Peruvian flavor. Keep up the good work!

Street parking was fairly easy to find despite construction closing off part of the street in front of the restaurant. It was a Sunday evening and every table was filled so we had to wait about 20 min for enough tables to clear for our large party. The vibe was casual, the music upbeat, the service was courteous and prompt (except when we were waiting for them to bring out the birthday cake that we had brought. We waited a long time for them to set up the birthday music and assemble their staff). We started with the tostones, maduros, and ensalada verde which were delicious and their own or amped up even more with the green sauce. Our entrees included the Pechuga Hawaiana, Tallarin Verde con Bistec, and Sudado de Pescado Del Mar Al Plato. It was nonstop consumption at our table because we couldn’t get over the flavors, some of them familiar with a new twist to it or some altogether new. The price was more than reasonable for about $20-25 per entree but the portions was generous enough for one portion to feed two people. Since it was a birthday occasion, the staff gathered to sing happy birthday in Spanish to our birthday celebrant. It took a while for them to get this prepared, more than 15 min after we were completely done with our meal. Our confusion and impatience about the long wait was allayed when we saw the extra birthday flair and festivity. It is not a huge place, but it is family friendly, clean, and colorfully decorated. We will return to try other selections on the menu because based on our first experience you can’t go wrong with any choice!

Coming here was such a wonderful experience. Places like this really value service and the servers are so professional. Its an unassuming restaurant from the outside but is elegant on the inside. The food is delicious also. Very authentic Peruvian food and i love how they give you the corn and sauce to hold you over until the food comes. I recommend the lomo saltado, leche de tigre, and the cookies on the counter!

Amazing food.
I felt like I ate in Peru.
The tray of chicharron, camote, relleno and tamal! The best.
And I’d say for what I paid it was a good deal.
I definitely come back to taste a different thing for lunch.
recommended.

I went there today November 1st. with my family and we greatly enjoyed!!! The food was outstanding and the service was amazing! Laura, the owner, paid great attention to detail and made sure everything was perfect. Her mom was also very hospitable and the waitress kept coming around to check on us. I felt like I was home with family. Everything we ordered was delicious. My favorite was the Causa combinado con ceviche. Oh my! We will definitely be going back. I wish them the best and may God continue blessing everyone here.

Fast service and great size servings.
Impressed on a Monday night all the tables were occupied in this small business.
Food speaks for itself, and if you love Peruvian food you should try it out.
Parking is tough, but what do you expect at Rahway.
Staff was super friendly and for a speak easy restaurant the music playing in the background was delightful.

Don’t sleep on Caido del Cielo. It’s one of the best Peruvian restaurants in NJ. I’m really not just saying that — it’s true. So underrated and deserves more recognition for how good the food is.
