The smell of authentic Indian incense and spices hit our noses upon entry. The calming and inviting atmosphere was immediately welcoming.
Our table was in a corner with each dinner linen folded to perfection at each place setting.
We shared many dishes for the table including chutney Raita, Pakoras, garlic shrimp, Barry Kebab, Lamb biryani, Malabar (salmon) Fish Masala, basmati rice, garlic naan (baked to perfection).
All of the sauces for each dish were creamy, rich, flavorful, with just enough spice to savor every bite.
The drinks were incredible. Mango margarita was smooth and delicious. The spicy mango margarita was made to order and spicy how I like it. And the Sauvignon blanc was crisp and dry for dinner. Delicious.
Always a guarantee at Manhattan Valley. Always.

The food at this restaurant is delicious.
I ordered the Chicken Korma, and my wife chose the buffet — everything was very good.

The service was good overall, even if it could be a little warmer, but nothing major. The decor is quite average.

That said, we come here mainly to eat well, and that’s exactly what we did.

There are also vegetarian options available, which is a real plus.

I recommend this place and will most likely come back.

Random walk-in to try their lunch buffet on a Sat afternoon got us here. Old skool Indian restaurant; dated interiors, old bar that still serves Indian classic cocktails, and a buffet that surprisingly manages to justify its $21 price tag (half-priced for kids under 6).

Poonam, our hostess got us seated and we went straight to grabbing our food, Their buffet selection was limited, but felt perfect. Snacks included Samosa’s and Chicken Pakoras with a tasty green chutney, and mains focused on dependable classics like Aloo Gobi, Saag Paneer, and a rather bland Dal Makhni. They had one Indo-Chinese mains – Fish Chilly, and non-veg mains included Chicken Tikka Masala, Goat Curry, Chicken Kali-Mirch. They also had Biryani Rice and Choley Bhature, but the Bhatura’s were very thick and disappointing.

They served naan and rotis on the table and the staff was friendly. Restaurant had a good amount of foot traffic throughout our stay! Will definitely be our local go-to-Indian restaurant in the neighborhood!

Was looking for Indian places to eat and had lamb biryani at this joint. They use halal meat. I wish the lunch hour deal could be extended till 4 pm. Went again for the lunch buffet and it’s a solid deal, highly recommend!

I ordered a few items from their vegan options menu online for pickup. A few moments later I received a call asking to confirm the Garlic Naan (the only non-vegan item on my order). This was very considerate of the restaurant – they wanted to make sure I did not make a mistake on my order. Beyond that, this act confirmed that they actually do cater to and look out for their vegan guests. The food was delicious, fairly priced and ready on time. I will be ordering from them again 🙂

Manhattan Valley is an absolute gem for Indian cuisine right in the heart of Manhattan. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot whether you’re dining casually or celebrating something special.

The food is the real star here. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavor, perfectly spiced, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. From the rich, creamy curries to the fresh naan and aromatic rice, everything tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell a lot of care goes into each plate.

The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to help with recommendations. Despite being in the middle of NYC, the experience felt personal and unrushed, which is hard to find.

If you’re looking for top-tier Indian cuisine in Manhattan, Manhattan Valley is a must-visit. This place delivers on flavor, quality, and hospitality, and it’s definitely somewhere I’ll be returning to again and again.

This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. I’ve tried chicken tikka masala in multiple countries, and Manhattan Valley’s is still in my top 3. The buffet and traditional menu both feature delicious options, and their takeout is always fresh and quickly prepared. Highly recommend!!!

Been going to Manhattan Valley for about 20 years (since it was Indus Valley) minus a partial break for when the old management wasn’t respecting the help. But that’s long since over. The food has always been delicious. Food is always fresh, they have excellent vegetarian options (obviously), and the staff has always been kind and attentive. It’s one of my favorite neighborhood Indian restaurants.

I first visited over ten years ago and fell in love with those three little sauces and papadam they give you upon arrival. The food is better here than any other Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to. Was so glad to go back when I was in town last week and find not much has changed- the food is still mind-blowingly delicious, the staff still impeccable and friendly. Can’t wait to visit again!
