My wife and I decided to spend a Friday afternoon in downtown State College. We started at Doggie’s. We liked the place as we walked in. Traditional college dive bar. We each had one drink and we split the pretzel sticks. All were good. It was a good experience and we will be back.

Visited our son at Penn State a couple of months ago and popped in. We are from the Uk and thought it was great – such an atmosphere and a v friendly feeling. Pizza was pretty good too. Our son is on the rugby team and Doggies have been so supportive of the team which is much appreciated. We are coming again in a few weeks and will definitely be back (just maybe not outside this time ……)

Ordered seven pizzas from Doggie’s during parent’s weekend for my son and his buddies. I had no intention of eating any since it was later evening but after they arrived I couldn’t resist. However, I needed to act quick as the boys devoured them! SO good!

Being a native NY’er – doggies Pizza is the only kind we will eat when in State College. The atmosphere is great and it’s our pub of choice to grab a few cocktails. The staff is responsive and make a great cocktail.

Honestly one of my favorite State College bars. It’s always a fun night anytime I’ve went. If you want a fun night out with friends and family to hear some live music or to just sit and chat, this is the place to be. Staff is friendly and they make good drinks.

We were visiting our son who attends PSU and after a few hours of shopping we decided to grab a bite. We had eaten the night before at the Tavern, excellent meal but wanted some pizza and maybe a beer. We asked a few shop owners and got a couple of different responses but in searching Google, Doggie’s Pub was well reviewed and only a few blocks away. We could not have picked any better. This place was exactly what we were looking for. The pub is actually below grade (fka the Rathskeller). You are greeted at the door and have to produce ID. If you’re not 21 or with an adult don’t bother, you can’t get in. There is no table service but if you’re here that doesn’t matter. The vibe is awesome, the employees were great, friendly and helpful and the pizza…really good pie! It’s a thin crust the way I like it. The bar is of course a full bar. It was the first Saturday afternoon of spring break so the pub was relatively quiet. We were able to sit at a booth and enjoy all the “carvings” in the table and writing on the walls. There is of course multiple photos of doggies hanging up! I’m sure this place is a lot of fun during the school year. If you’re in town and want a really good pizza and a beer, this is the place!

great experience but ordered from a brunette woman in striped overalls on the night of Aug 30th and got nothing but attitude and improperly made drinks. genuinely a waste of money and time. she seemed too preoccupied flirting with all the men in the section and skipped me on several occasions to serve men first when I had waited patiently with my friends, not causing a commotion. then when we got our drinks they were poured way too heavy to the point where they tasted horrible, and the shots were nothing like what we ordered. this had happened to my friends on other nights here as well with the same bartender. seemed like she was all over the place and had no clue what she was doing. then when we asked for a drink with a regular single shot in it instead, we got dirty looks and attitude from her. that is not the experience a paying customer should have. will never be returning to that bartender again and, as someone who used to work as a server, i would hate to be a coworker who splits my tips with her. besides that, great atmosphere and loved the live music. my favorite part is the courtyard especially during football weekends, so it was so nice to be back and see everyone! always a great start and end of the night

I called yesterday and earlier today to see if minors were allowed, and they confirmed on the phone a minor would be allowed before 6. My brother loves Doggies pizza and the only thing he wanted to do this weekend was eat a slice. I wouldn’t have even asked if they still had tables outside! I even checked the instagram and nothing about no minors (like they usually post each week). We show up at 4:45 just to sit and eat a slice, and are told rudely no. I explained I called and was just bummed and the bouncers immediately were rude and said “it’s policy what do you want.” My dad spoke to a manager who was similarly dismissive and rude. I love it here and have since 2021, but we verified multiple times the time and to be turned away SO rudely after doing so was disheartening. We still grabbed a pie to go and will be eating it on the sidewalk I guess.

Walked into the bar with great spirits we go to the bar to get drinks and the bartender refused to serve us once we asked why he proceeded to tell us that we told him he “wasn’t black enough” which was CRAZY considering we’ve NEVER talked to him EVER we usually go to a different bartender he than proceeded to argue with us and refuse service told us to go to a different bartender and threatened to get us kicked out. Honestly the worst experience ever if you’re going mix up your customers at least make sure your fax are straight before starting an argument.

Went during holiday bar crawl at 6PM. I had the shirt and they told me I still needed to pay cover for the band (there was no band). Bouncer also asked my friend for three different forms of identification and got frustrated with him.
