New England Soup Factory is a fast-casual, soup-focused eatery located on Washington Street in Salem. It’s open Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
My friends and I were looking for a quick midday snack, and the chilly weather narrowed our cravings fast. Soup seemed like the perfect way to warm up.
We all opted for the chicken pot pie, packed with chicken, potatoes, onions, peas, and carrots. While it was tasty, it didn’t stand out, and even with the complimentary bread, the portion felt small for the price.

Stopped in for a bowl of clam chowder and a bowl of lobster soup. Was delicious. Nice place and the staff were very friendly. Stop by if your are looking for good soup.

I love the soup factory so much! When ever I need food that feels like a hug this is my go to! Friendly staff, great soup, I just got the Mac and cheese for the first time and heated it up when I got home from work and it was so good! I wish the chicken pot pie and twice baked potato wasn’t rotational soups, so if you see them on the menu DON’T MISS OUT!

Placed a online order and received email confirmation. Checked bank account, verified the correct amount was withdrawn. Drive all the way there…. to find them closed. Tried calling, no way to leave a message. Ummmm how do i get a refund? Atleast if you’re going to close, mark it on your website and close online ordering

I have been having their soup since college over 20 years ago. The absolute best and I drive half an hour to have it whenever I’m in town. Corn and clam chowder is hands down the greatest soup I’ve ever had.

It was a cold New England day & the soup hit just the right spot. The employees were fine not friendly but not rude. The prices were fine for what you got. I’ve had better soup but I’ve also had way worse.

Don’t bother getting food from this place, I was working in the area yesterday on a 24 hour road work shift, and ordered a Mac and cheese from their lunch menu with utensils, expecting it to be hot and fresh like they said their soups would be, but they gave me a stapled bag with a fridge cold plastic wrapped run of the mill chalky tasting inedible Mac and cheese in a plastic package you can get from boston salads or any local convenience store. I literally took one fork full before throwing the rest away.
If you are a take out restaurant promoting your hot fresh made soups and salads, hard working patrons expect hot, fresh foods, not chalky tasting cold packed boston salads wrapped in plastic wrap.

This place is great! Perfect for lunch and the lines weren’t long! Friendly staff!! Awesome food! We had the lobster, chicken pot pie and Clam chowder- all were excellent and super hot! Would definitely go there again!

This place was amazing. For like 20 bucks I had a great soup (Lobster Newberg), a really good sandwich (Little Italy), a soda and dessert. The guy was super nice, the food was prepared immediately, and the place was almost empty so there was no wait. If you like New England soup I cannot recommend this place enough. Just order what I ordered, you can’t go wrong.
