We are very happy with our order! We have just moved to the area from San Diego and are accustomed to the amazing food from that area, and we have been trying to find our go to Chinese restaurant. Trying their food last night left both my partner and I impressed.

First off, the service was great, the menu online was easy to find and navigate, only critique would be to add pictures with the dishes. We called in our order and the cashier immediately picked up our call and took our order. Timeline was great with the order being ready in 10 minutes, just enough time to get to the restaurant from our house, with the food waiting for us when we arrived.

The food! We ordered steamed dumplings, Mongolian Beef, Sesame Chicken and Vegetable Lo Mein. Everything met our standards for a great Chinese restaurant! The dumplings were great (of course) the veggie lo mein was packed full of veggies, with very well seasoned and textured noodles. The Mongolian beef was seasoned to perfection, just the right amount of spice and loaded with onions which were very tasty and the sesame chicken was crispy with a delicious covering of sauce and savory broccoli.

Mid rating on atmosphere just because we took out and cannot comment on eating in.

Overall, the food was great and received expediently! We will be making Happy China our go to Chinese restaurant for the future!

If you’re on the hunt for quality street food, look no further than Happy China. Owned and operated by Tony, the place delivers lightning-fast service with consistently fresh meals. From General Tso’s chicken to beef and Chinese pork, the menu offers a variety of options that cater to every palate, with vegetables that truly elevate your dining experience.

Logistically, Happy China earns an 8/10 for efficient service flow, making navigation straightforward. While the atmosphere receives a 7/10, it’s clear that speed and satisfaction take precedence here. The food quality shines with a 9/10, backed by a 8/10 value assessment. For those craving authentic street food action with genuine hospitality, Happy China is an undeniable choice. I will be back!

I have been going to happy china for 4-5 years I have been ordering through the most difficult times I understand it’s cold out and things like that and I really don’t complain I am a delivery driver myself and this right here unacceptable how the food came with no forks no soy sauce or the sauce for my egg roll and no napkins I am very unsatisfied and this is my favorite place for years and the rice is cold doesn’t taste pleasant and the. Pepper steak is more warm then all the rice put together and I asked for a small I’m grateful it was a large but make sure the rice is nice and warm I don’t like this so I called them to complain my 2nd complaint of the years of ordering here and he was rude this time and I didn’t like it it’s like he tried to brush it off and claim it had some to do with the delivery drivers and it’s cold out and he have a lot of order okay I get that but I door dash and my customers never complain if it’s fresh before out the door I have been through the worst with them and my food was still fresh and hot but don’t try to get me off the phone and basically saying you don’t care this and that I WILL NOT ORDER from them again I was treated like shit steady talking over me to HOW RUDE is that bad service and I’ll be transferring to the one on teal rd and then he told me to drive myself up there and get it replaced huh ? What that’s how you treat us customers because everybody been telling me to stop eating from here but I rarely have any problems but yeah I’m gone and then they added chicken to my stuff but didn’t call me to at least made sure what meat it was with it TRASHY who puts chicken on the beef when I clearly said in the special notes add beef smh

I’ve been coming here off and on for 3 years now. I generally have zero complaints. Size portions are more then generous and the service whether delivery or pickup is swift. That being said tonight i had 2 issues. One was a major concern the other was just inconvenient and slightly irritating. First and foremost my orders generally are the same every time. I get orange chicken and sesame chicken combo platters. The only thing thst varies is if we get rice or noodles and I always get an appetizer of crab ragoons and generally have them as the side option as well.

Good things: food was hot and plentiful, utensils and side sauces were in the bag and the additional soy and duck sauce they always throw in was there. Fantastic.

Problem: our sides of crab ragoons were not there only the appetizer portion was. Issue for me since im paying for it.
Second problem and the biggest problem i have, the orange chicken which we’ve ordered off an on for 3 years had so much orange zest it became INCREDIBLY spicy. So much so even I, myself couldn’t eat it, it physically burned and puffed up my twelve year old child’s lips who’s meal it was and she begged me to give her something else or fix it.

I was able to fix it. I had to completely empty the container and rinse all of the meat off ( which sucks because she loves the orange flavoring and prefers orange chicken from here ) then throw it back into the air fryer for 4 minutes and taste test it to make sure it wouldn’t set her mouth and lips a blaze again * it did the same thing to mine when I tried it, it was not edible *

I retossed it in the sweet and sour sauce luckily requested they send as well and then she was able to eat but I had to throw out a good portion of her rice as it was soaked in the juices that were in the container with the meat.

I’m not sure if the resturant changed the recipe or what but we have never had an issue with their orange chicken until tonight. It was completely inedible until I did what I did to remedy the situation.

Other than that I love this place. I love how quick they are, I love the size portions and the food is generally overall super tasty.

I have large concerns if the orange chicken is going to continue to be prepared that way and what it will do to various people’s mouths and lips let alone a small child. Please look into fixing this.

The worst Chinese food Ive ever had the displeasure of eating! Chicken was slimy, the fried chicken was sopping in oil food was incredibly bland. Crab Ragoon was fine up until the after taste hit. 50 bucks wasted. Delivery guy was phenomenal though. Was super courteous and read the instructions to insure we got our delivery. And the guy who answered the phone was friendly. Which is 10 steps up from the last lady we talked to when we attempted to order. We eventually just hung up because telling people to please hold on was too much. So at least they have those 2 for good customer service. Everything else tho is no good. Want good chinese go to China Garden in Rensselaer. Worth the drive apparently!

My go-to Chinese place I order from. Happy China is a fitting name. I sure do feel happier eating the food. Everything I’ve ordered has been good in the last 4 years I’ve been a customer. I have no complaints, only praise!

Best Chinese in the Lafayette area, hands-down. Egg foo young is one of my favorites, but I honestly have not had a bad dish from here. The owners are really nice and can accommodate special requests. I’ve noticed some other comments regarding MSG, but I haven’t noticed any overuse of this flavor-enhancer. I suggest requesting any special dietary requirements at the time of ordering. Prices are really fair, too. Hope this family continues serving the community for many more years.

Great little carry out place with a slightly different menu than some of the other standard “Hong Kong” style Chinese places. As far as individual dishes that I’ve tried go:

Chicken with Mixed Vegetables – Exactly what it says, in a brown sauce. Vegetables include water chestnuts, snow peas, broccoli, and mushrooms.

Shrimp with Mixed Vegetables – White sauce – light flavor, perfectly cooked veggies. Super good.

Chicken with Broccoli – Exactly what you would expect – chicken, broccoli, brown sauce.

Mongolian Chicken – This should be called, “onions, Onions, ONIONS!” because it’s a huge mouthful of onions. It’s good at first, but becomes overwhelming. It’s literally nothing but onions and chicken.

Hunan Chicken – Delicious dark sauce with chicken and big, perfectly cooked chunks of vegetables. One of my favorites.

Chicken Chop Suey – White sauce, good mix of veggies. Seems like a healthy choice.

Szechuan Chicken – Brown sauce with the standard mix of veggies and chicken. It has baby corn!

Moo Shu Chicken – Finely cut up cabbage, scallions, celery, wood ear, and carrots that you can put in their “pancakes” which are kind of like egg roll wrappers.

All of the lunch specials come with a couple crab rangoons or an egg roll, which is a great little bonus.

They cook seafood and chicken on the same surface without cleaning. So if you don’t want seafood don’t go here. EVERYTHING TASTES LIKE BAD FISH. Also smells terrible inside.
