El portal catered our daughter’s cinco de mayo themed birthday party and it was AMAZING! Everyone at the party raved about the food. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and made the whole party process SO much easier. Everyone at the party was adding the restaurant name to their iPhone notes so they could go back because the food was THAT good! Highly recommend

El portal catered to my schools holiday party. The food was so good everyone at the party thought it was delicious. I have to say the steak fajitas were amazing! The rice and beans are great, they also brought salsa for us. I highly recommend buying food from here, especially for large parties. I had a positive experience ordering from El Portal. I look forward to catering from here again!

I came here a week ago on April 22nd after driving by this place for a few months. I finally decided to go in and try it out. I got the steak burrito with onions added to it. I could not believe the size of this thing for only $10 bucks. Tasted absolutely phenomenal and the red and green salsas they give with the orders to go were amazing. It took less than 5 minutes for my food and I got it to go and took it home.
Hands down the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long while. I live in schaumburg but I’m driving out to El Portal any time I want some good Mexican food. I’ll be back soon to try more of the menu.

Such lovely folks met us as we entered the door, even though my lady decided to track mud on their freshly mopped floor.
Also went with the Chicken Flautas with a michelada to drink while I rocked an agua con lemon with my chicken enchiladas souiza. We both dug out chow and the highlight may have been the clearly house made salsa that came with chips when we sat down. There is some spice, but it’s oh so nice. This place was a super convenient find and is a couple of blocks from home, so we will definitely be back:-)

Not a fancy spot by any means, but the food here is phenomenal. I’ve never had a bad meal here. Their tacos are great, their burritos are very filling. I love their sopa de mariscos (seafood soup), shrimp cocktail, chilaquiles, and on the weekends, their spicy menudo. Highly recommend.

We love this place great menudo, and great catering we ordered food for our baby shower. Everything was super good they really go above and beyond. My dad picked up the food and the trays didn’t fit in my dads car. They (I didn’t get the guys name)drove it to my house that is 30 min away. Super thankful and definitely be catering for our next event!! 100% recommended

I ordered a Michelada and it was amazing. I order two tostadas de ceviche and wow is all I can say. Definitely was worth the trip. I asked to watch the game and he changed it! Place was clean and had a good vibe.
