It was my first time going there and it was very cute. The parking area wrapped around the back and side of the location. It’s definitely a smaller sized café, but I do like the fact that there was outdoor and indoor seating. I wanted to be safe with my first meal here and I went with the all-American classic… A standard stack of pancakes with eggs and sausage. These were some of the best sausages I had ever had and I really enjoyed the pancakes as well. You can tell everything is made from scratch and the food everybody at our table was eating looked really good. The people who were sitting at the table next to us got more traditional Mexican dishes and they looked really interesting and I would love to try them next time. The service was really great and we made a reservation ahead of time and we told them that we had about eight adults in one baby… When we arrived, we had a table that was set up with chairs and even a baby booster chair already ready for us in the outside patio. The heaters had been turned on because the service staff wanted to make sure that the baby wouldn’t be cold when we arrived. That was so very thoughtful of them. I definitely want to come back. Also, I do plan on having the lunch there, and they did tell me that they cook both breakfast and lunch meals… Pretty much anything on the menu all day.

I had an incredible Hamburger (1/3 lb patty!)
with golden crinkle cut fries. One of the best hamburger combos I’ve ever had .

The word “delicious” says too little.

From the moment I walked in, I was glad to dine here. The owner answered my questions about the menu and made an excellent breakfast for me. Even the coffee, which was regular black coffee, was impressive. There were plenty of cream cups in a little bowl on the table, and the waffle, eggs, and hamburger were, to borrow a Zig Ziglar phrase, better than good.

I have stopped here twice for breakfast. I really want to like this place because I prefer small business establishments over chains.

I will say the service is good and everyone is working hard.

Everything i have tried is fine, basic and overall not memorable in any way.

The hash browns I had this trip had a taste of whatever was cooked on the flat top just before.

The pricing is set high for something that is only acceptable. A scramble w/diced ham, hash browns and coffee (no toast) was $22.14.

If they make a few changes and rethink the pricing a little it could be a great place.

Have been wanting to stop here since I moved to Bakersfield and finally had a weekend off so went to try the food and glad I did. The place is small but quaint and charming like eating breakfast in your mom’s home. Staff was friendly and helpful I. Making recommendations. Went with the country fried steak with country gravy and biscuits and gravy. Everything was flavorful and seasoned perfectly and my steak and eggs were cooked to perfection. Expect a wait if going as place is small but worth the wait. Will be back to try the French dip as I haven’t found a place here that serves a great French dip and saw them on the menu

My service was fast and good.

My food was better.

Too much to eat it all, eggs were cooked to perfection.

Biscuits and Gravy was good, but I waited to long to eat it and it got cold.

Loved the decor.

3.9/5 for the breakfast sandwich. It was reasonably priced and would fill you up if you’re hungry. Nothing special about it though but again it was good. The service was really great though. It’s an old mom and pop shop where you can fuel up for the day.

It’s a good place for your breakfast or lunch, I usually ordered omelette and I really like all I’m eating, I think the only problem it’s the space, but try to go and enjoy the food and coffee!!

Service was quick and our omelettes were steaming and hot. This is an unassuming diner – just what we want for travel stops.

Mariah, our waitress, was knowledgeable about gluten and the small changes I had to order. I like that the bread-part that is standard with breakfasts was changeable to fruit – which was freshly cut and very good. So commonly, gluten free diners just go without, or give their “biscuit” (whatever) to someone else.
Btw, my husband says the gluten biscuit was very good.
DO stop here for breakfast if “homey” suits you.
