Archie’s Pizza at Clubhouse No. 3

  4.8 – 89 reviews   • Pizza restaurant

Social Profile:

St. Louis-style pizzeria and food truck specializing in St. Louis-style pizza. Our pizza is very very different than other local pizzerias and consists of a thin, cracker-like crust; a semi-sweet sauce; and creamy, smoky Provel cheese. Provel is a mixture of three cheeses: white cheddar, Swiss, and provolone. We recommend diving into the menu a little as the menu is curated to match the uniqueness of the cheese. Plain Cheese or Pepperoni pizzas are not our jam…But if you’re looking for something unique you found your new pizza spot. Our speciality pies is where we shine.

If you’re in Sandusky, you should definitely visit this spot. The pizza is truly delicious, clearly made with fresh ingredients and skillfully crafted dough, reflecting their expertise. I had the chance to meet the owner, and he’s such a friendly person! It’s evident that he has poured his heart into this establishment and is doing an excellent job.

To say this was the best pizza I’ve ever had would be an understatement! I’m fairly certain that our group ordered at least one of every pizza and I don’t know that I could pick a favorite! The pizza of the month was street corn, and it was literally one of the best things I’ve ever smelled let alone ate! Love the atmosphere and food! The owners were awesome! Absolutely loved my taste of St. Louis and will definitely be back!

Edit:
Just tried the Apple crisp fold over! Must try

When I tell you that this is the best pizza I’ve had outside of the New York area, that is the best compliment I can give to pizza. Ask anyone who has relocated from that area what they miss the most, and 8 out of 10 people will tell you they miss “real pizza.” Congratulations to Archie’s Pizza for hitting the bull’s eye.
The pizza is beyond great. It’s made right in front of you, if you choose to sit at the counter area. There is a table-seating area as well as takeout. The pizza is baked to perfection and when it hits your mouth, you know you made a great decision.
The owners took a gamble by making a St. Louis-style pizza, but it has paid off for consumers. Not only is it a delicious pizza, but it’s so distinct that you’ll know exactly what pizzeria it came from. This also helps the shop to stand out among the downtown eateries.

Additionally, the décor helps Archie’s to pop since it is centered around St. Louis instead of Cleveland or Ohio. The chairs are comfy for watching a game on the big screens or for chatting up a fellow diner.

I had the opportunity to speak with the one of the owners, Jeremy, for a while. He’s incredibly personable and a great conversationalist. He knows his pizza, he knows his town, and he knows how to treat customers well.

Archie’s Pizza also has a food truck. So if you can’t get to the brick-and-mortar shop, you may come across it at events at Jackson Street Pier or beyond. Archie’s Pizza comes highly recommended for dining in, takeout, or food truck fare.

First time at Archie’s tonight and the pizza is absolutely amazing! It’s unlike any pizza I’ve had before. The sauce is so incredible, lots of depth in flavor, truly fantastic. Loved the thin crispy pepperoni and the crumbly sausage! The desserts are a must! We tried both the apple and the cherry. It tasted like a gourmet toaster strudel, like a hug from your childhood. Absolutely delicious!

Took the family into Archie’s at Clubhouse No. 3 tonight. We chose Archie’s because we wanted to support a wonderful family taking a chance and making an investment into our small town. We’ve had it on their truck before but wanted to show some love at the new brick and mortar.

Plenty of parking. Easy access. Plenty of room inside. Super cool ambiance. Comfortable. I’m remodeling a building myself and left with a bunch of notes to make my place as cozy.

Anyways—we ordered a large cheese for the kids and a large Great One. The pizza was great! Made fresh for our order. Love that someone took a chance to do something different. So much of the same pizza in Sandusky. It was nice to try something different. My favorite part was the cracker like crust and semi-sweet sauce. The cheese is provel. Creamy with a wonderfully unique flavor profile. Toppings on The Great One were plentiful and flavorful. I especially liked how the pepperoni crisped up and the flavor in the sausage. We left full and with half the pizza in each box. Even took the left overs to my staff to finish off. I told ‘em, “One bite. Everyone knows the rules.”

Thank you for taking a chance on Sandusky. Wishing you the best.

I stumbled on St. Louis style pizza in Sandusky and it was amazing.
Provel cheese blend made in-house, along with handmade sauce and a sausage blend that reminded me of college.

Great vibe and friendly staff – you will not be disappointed!!

Okay. Is pricey. Spent 80 on 2 pizzas and cheese sticks. Its not everyone’s cup of tea. Its crispy. Its greasy. Not in a bad way. I didn’t care so much for the regular pizza, kids liked the half cheese, half pepperoni, the double decker is a showstopper. But is it the best non traditional pizza in Sandusky. It is. Would i order it again. I would. Did we take the leftovers home. We did. Am i eating it now. I am.

Go check out Archie’s! It definitely is a unique experience. Had a couple of great pizzas introduced to St. Louis style for the first time, and it was incredible! Great smokey flavors, loads of delicious meats, and love the crispy thin crust. Got to talk a lot of hockey with the owner (Blues-Red Wings-Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs) while we ate The Great One pizza. Does it get any better than that? Answer: NO! Support your local small business owner living the American dream! Will definitely be back soon! Best wishes for success!

UPDATE: Came back for 2nd time in a week… It’s just really awesome, pizza! The hot honey is out of this world!

I was in Sandusky visiting my parents and learned of this place. Having been stationed in the St. Louis area 25 years ago my wife and I miss the St. Louis style pizza, unique to our early years.

Archie’s did not disappoint and represents St. Louis style pizza, taking us back! The thin crust, the creamy cheese made us feel like we were in our 20’s sitting in the shadow of the arch.

If you go and are unsure – just try the toasted ravioli- another of our favorites from that time in our lives. These should be an appetizer in every eatery and bar.

The owner was there and we talked as he finished up our to go order. Very friendly and generous. The place was clean and met the vibe check.

Check it out if you’re tired of the chain place for a refreshing trip to the gateway of the west.
