I went there with a date. The pics in Maps made the food look really good. However, to me, it was meh. I got the farmland and she got the pulled port sandwich. The meats tasted like they were reheated in some way, as it was kind of dry. The burnt ends, I ordered the sandwich without bread, was lackluster. The only thing that tasted like it was pull apart, was the fatty parts. I did like the sauce, it tasted familiar like I’ve had it before. I think the food would probably be good if it was completely fresh. It wasnt terrible and it wasnt great.
Edit: I am seeing reviews of sauces, I only saw the one on the table and did not see any other sauces. Looking at other reviews as well, it just seems like the quality is not the same every day. That needs to be worked on

My wife and nonverbal autistic son visited Sweet & Smoky Barbecue and the experience was honestly heartbreaking.
While they were waiting for their food, my son who is nonverbal and on the autism spectrum was making vocal noises, which is how he communicates. He was not being aggressive, not running around, not damaging anything. Just making sounds.
The owner came out from the back and told my wife and son they needed to leave because my son was “disturbing customers.”
Let that sink in.
A child with a disability was asked to leave for existing in the way he naturally exists.
Instead of showing basic compassion or understanding, the situation was handled with zero empathy. Families with special needs children already face enough challenges navigating public spaces. Being told to leave a restaurant because your child is autistic adds unnecessary humiliation and pain.
We will not be returning.
I hope the owner takes time to educate himself on autism and reconsider how he treats families in this community

Ok this is a local favorite, from what I hear. I had the cajun bacon smash burger, and brisket potato bombs with some of the Memphis BBQ and the Carolina sauces. Really really good food that is just great to eat slow and savor the flavors. Heard the gentleman say he was also doing some smoked shrimp for an event…sounds fantastic. Keep up the great work, as tastes like you love what you do! All the staff were absolute sweethearts, too.

Im sorry to say we wasted our time here. The atmosphere is dumpy at best. The sauce on the table tasted watered down and almost flavorless. The food was dry and overcooked. I had the pork tenderloin sandwich (they’re better at Casey’s) with Mac n cheese and coleslaw. My husband had the pulled pork and baked beans. And we each had a fountain soda~$36 at lunch time. Sorry to say it is not worth it and certainly not 4.5 stars.

Neat little restaurant downtown Fairfield. Great service and food was very good! BBQ fries with chicken was awesome. Big portions and cooked fast too. Staff was friendly and was very gracious when we came in late shortly before they closed. I will be back!

This place was really great! Great customer service, great food, chill atmosphere. Do yourself a favor and go tonight. All the sauces were fun to try, I like the XX spicier one the best. The fried pickles were perfect! My lady love liked the waffle fries, as did I. I can’t wait to go back!

Absolutely phenomenal smokehouse barbeque. The ribs are to die for, but they only serve them on weekends, so be sure to order the burnt ends instead. They were out of smoked turkey that day, too. I would’ve loved to try that. The pulled pork, brisket, & chicken are also amazing. Everything is fresh, made right there in house, even their 8+ amazing sauces which you will want to sample all of. If you’re passing through Fairfield, or visiting the American Gothic House, definitely stop in and get some of this mouthwatering barbeque!

They catered my mom’s celebration of life because they were some of her favorite BBQ. We got all of her favorite things and they worked with me on everything. Date changes, menu changes all of it. Tony and everyone else I spoke with were easy to communicate with and the food was delicious on the day. Thank you for everything!
