This is our absolute favorite Somali restaurant. I love how they accommodate families and the beautiful traditional ambience. Very delicious food and excellent service. The rice is always fluffy and the lamb falls off the bone. Their nafaqo is our favorite and it’s specially delicious when paired with the green bisbas. I tried the chapati today which was soft and flaky. We’ve been here several times since they opened and the food is consistently amazing. This is definitely our new favorite spot to get food whenever we don’t feel like cooking!

First time trying Somalia food! We really liked it! The lamb shank is so fresh and tender. Also recommend the sambusa. The shell is so crispy and the beef inside are delicious.

I believe Tigards first east African restaurant. The place and clean and the employees are welcoming. They have a diverse menu and flavors are authentic. You have to try their homemade green salsa . They have the best Sambusa/Samosa in town. Grab a couple and their salsa for the road. Loaded with meat and fried crisp. They have private floor seating for family style seating.

I’ll be going back to try their other dishes. Also don’t forget to order their in house flaky chapati

Came here on the recommendation of a coworker. The folks at Kismayo were so kind and welcoming. We sat in one of the floor rooms and enjoyed the cozy ambience on a cold and windy day. We enjoyed a basket of savory pastries as well as the slow-cooked goat with rice, and the Kismayo tea. My favorites were the beef sambusa (the juicy sweet onions! the tender savory meat!)and the light, flavorful goat broth starter. Highly recommend.

On a whim, I popped into Kismayo for afternoon sweet & savory snacks for the office, & later everyone at the office was raving about how good the food was. The halal nafaaqo, sambusa/samosa, & mahamri were all fresh, delicious & surprisingly affordable. They pass on the savings of their austere decor with menu savings to their grateful & loyal customers. I’m now a huge fan. Fridays & weekends are busiest they say.

Great new restaurant in SW Portland! Family-owned, authentic Somali cuisine. Worth a trip! The Soor and curry was amazing, as was the Chapati (we tried goat on the side). Would recommend this place highly!

The food and service were amazing, I had a really good time here. Love the floor seating and setup – I felt comfortable and feel that all meals should be eaten this way lol. The menu has great options and variety, the food was fresh with great veggie options, and the portions were awesome too. Will definitely come back 🙂
