I stop by here every chance I get – most recently I was in for a casual business dinner with an old friend – and the food and service here are always impeccable. I’ve been telling people all over this great nation that Holy Smoke BBQ might be the best barbecue in the country – and every single plate I eat supports that claim. Great job y’all – as always! Try the brisket and Conecuh Sausage – save room for mac and cheese as well – and DO NOT miss the spicy BBQ Sauce!

I got me & my daughter pork potatoes, fries onion rings & pie… the pie was tipped over inside the plastic & the meat tasted like it had no flavor… paid 25 cents a pack of Ranch for a 60.00$ order of FOOD… it did NOT taste fresh at all…. definitely will not do business here again

Had the pork plate with coleslaw and potato salad. Plenty of meat for the price, mild smoke flavor. Slaw was sweet and sour. Not much flavor in the meat without the sauce. We will keep searching for better

Since last year when the news featured how this place was probably gonna close due to the property being sold I have frequent it once a week to show support for a local business.
Well I go in, not busy, order very clearly what I wanted 2 times. A certain drink, fries and a pork sandwich. The guy was so worried about turning the big screen around, saying” if you can, answer the question on the screen” you know the guilt tip thing since Covid where it says 5, 10 percent , No tip etc. Well I normally have fallen for that, but Im actually done with that I’ll leave a buissness from now on. I did hit I think 5 or 10 percent, it wasn’t a big tip at all but why should I. This guy litteraly didn’t attempt to call out my order until this question was checked by me and he turned the screen back to his side. Just tacky and lame.
Anyway, drink comes out 1st. It was a sprite. I repeated what I ordered. A girl had to intervene and bring out my correct drink. Then the same guy who took my order at the counter, brought out my sandwich and went back behind the counter. I got up ( at this point I was ready to just leave) I reminded him I ordered a large fry. He mumbled like as if it were my fault. Then the girl had to tell the cook to drop fries in the fryer.
Wow don’t the workers get paid by the hour? A waiter/waitress doesn’t get paid minimum wage and they get tipped at the end of service, not before. I feel that guy went into a fog because my tip came to about 2 bucks ( I really shouldn’t have to leave any tip. If I order at a counter.
More and more young employees think they deserve tips for simply doing their job ,then if you do not see things their way or tip, you get crappy service.
Well I wish Holy Smoke the best as that will be my last visit due to the poor customer service. This place is not a full service restaurant where servers get less then minimum wage and count on tips. I guess the owner can afford to loose buissness.

Had high hopes, but my BBQ on my sandwich was super dry. I love good BBQ, will always give a place another shot. Stay tuned.

We had a family of 10 surprise birthday party, and Jackie was fabulous in helping with the surprise! The food is always outstanding. We ordered brisket, chicken, pulled pork, sausage, nachos, beans, and slaw. Oh, and Bart’s spicy BBQ sauce is lip lickin’ good! It’s more of a to go place than a dine in, but there was plenty of room for our large group, a table full of teens, and A LOT of people waiting for their food. Excellent!

After a day of working nearby, I stopped in to Holy Smoke BBQ for a late lunch. I’d had this place bookmarked for a while so I was excited for a chance to try it. The restaurant was empty at about 1:30, but that’s not too surprising – not exactly usual lunch hour lol. They have a drive through and a dine in area, but I wanted to enjoy the air conditioning and decompress, so indoors I went.

I was greeted warmly by a woman at the counter. Her sunny and helpful disposition was the highlight of the experience; all of the service was great. She chatted with me and told me she could answer any of my questions and she was also kind enough to bring my food out to me.

They have a medium-large size menu for a bbq place. Not knowing what to really expect, I went for what I view as the “safe” option of a loaded bbq potato and a drink. They serve Pepsi products, which is more than okay for me. I don’t remember the exact price but I remember thinking it was pretty reasonable for what I got.

The potato was very large but I was sadly rather underwhelmed. The butter substitute and sour cream were served on the side, which isn’t my preference (I think it works better if you let them melt into the warm potato beneath the meat and cheese), but my main problem was I thought the pork just wasn’t that good. There were a lot of tough and dry pieces and it didn’t have a ton of flavor. Lastly, the bacon bits were the bright red kind you sprinkle on a fast food salad — not what I was hoping for when the lady at the counter told me bacon bits came on the potato. On the bright side, the potato was cooked nicely, very hot, and was quite large.

The restaurant was mostly clean and cool although there was a fly or two dead on the windowsill by where my table was pushed up to the wall.

Overall, this is an average bbq spot compared to the several I’ve tried in the Hartselle area. If I return in the future, I’ll probably try a different meat or new sides or something.

I believe the food us the best around the Hartsell area. The white is definitely the best. I recommend the place to my friends and family. I will be back.

Clean and friendly. The BBQ smell, as you walk in, is amazing. Pork stuffed potato was delicious (and huge). Lots of meat. And the spicy BBQ sauce is now my absolute favorite.

Very friendly service. The dining room was closed, but the drive-through was open. Wings are smoked and delicious, and the onion rings are on point. Not so great that I’d go out of my way to eat here but wouldn’t be against it if I was close.
