I’m highly disappointed in Peace and Saint Raleigh. Was at the J.Cole listening party last night and I order the Jen 69 which is basically the French 75 but I asked for Cognac instead of Vodka. The bartender explained it’s an up charge ok cool. I also got my homegirl a regular Jen 69 for her birthday.

It was busy and I saw her making some drinks in small champagne glasses. So I asked if those were the drinks I ordered and she says No.

I’m still watching her make the drinks and she hands me the same drinks she says weren’t mine. So I told her I’ve ordered this same drink from here before, but it’s always in a larger glass. She says they don’t have those glasses anymore.

The 2 drinks came to $49. Jen 69 is $18, so I was up charged $13 to get half of the alcohol I was supposed to get.

I should’ve took pictures but I was so heated I didn’t.

So I finished that small drink pretty quickly. As I’m on my way to the bathroom I set our empty glasses down at the bar and I see the glass the drink NORMALLY comes in. I was FUMING

Peace and Saint will NEVER get another dime out of me the way yall disrespected me. From what I hear they overcharge for nothing. They’ll never see me again!

It was very dry in the building…I could literally count an estimate of 40 people the entire night. However, I understand why…the service was trash. We waited an hour for our order to arrive. The bar tenders and waitresses were standing around socializing more than they were serving customers. No one came to check on us the whole night. We had to keep asking the hostess to check on our order, and she delivered more efficiently than our assigned waitress. It was so dead in here. If you want an experience for Peace and Saint, go to the Durham location.

We had a very disappointing experience here.
Despite having multiple empty tables, the host made us wait for over an hour. We sat outside in 40°F weather and were denied a space heater even after asking multiple times. We also requested water bottles several times and no one brought them. The staff dropped the hookah and disappeared — we had to follow up for our checkout for nearly an hour again before someone finally showed up.

What bothered us the most was the automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill for a party of just three people — without informing us in advance. When we questioned it, the server looked embarrassed and removed it. I’ve since learned that this has happened to others as well.

As regular weekend customers, this experience was extremely disappointing. The service quality and transparency have declined sharply. I would not recommend this place until they fix their service and billing practices.

Three stars only due to the DJ and kind waitress we had. We visited randomly on last Saurday evening. We were sat within pretty quickly but was told we could only stay an hour at that seat because the table was reserved. Our server was nice and attentive. My issue was after three drinks, I make my way to the restroom only to see that it was blocked off at 11pm-ish. I asked the bartender and Mr. Man bun why and was told the restrooms are out of service for the rest of the evening. I asked a server walking by and she states people kept things down the drain causing it to stop the drain? Both restrooms in an establishment that serve drinks and no where to release? We left immediately after because regardless of what, one cannot exist with out another.

Yikes. What happened to Peace and Saint?
When we first arrived, we stood at the front for several minutes where there was clearly a spot for a hostess—but no one was there. No greeting, no direction. Another customer eventually told us to just walk to the bar. When we got to the bar, the bartender—who wasn’t helping anyone at the time—gave us minimal acknowledgment and told us to “sit wherever.”

We sat, waited over 15 minutes, and no one came (and no they weren’t busy). We were hungry and decided to grab food elsewhere before ordering hookah & drinks. When we returned, it was the same story: no hostess, no greeting, and again, we waited nearly 15 more minutes with no service. We eventually went back to the bar to ask when someone might at least bring us water. Still, nothing. So we left.

What really stood out was the lack of initiative from the staff. Multiple employees saw us standing at the front and sitting at our table and chose to ignore us. It honestly felt like if you weren’t a regular or didn’t know someone working there, then you didn’t receive service. If that’s the model, maybe they should consider being a members-only lounge!

To make matters worse, the place felt like it was in decline—sticky floors (please mop from the night before), inattentive staff, and an atmosphere that once had promise now felt neglected.

I hope management sees this and makes some changes. Because this isn’t the vibe that used to make Peace and Saint a go-to spot. The security guard was pleasant and welcoming! Only positive interaction that night.

Peace and Saints R, allowed a waitress put me and my sister out for no reason. SO WE THOUGHT
Come to find it, her dude was in the section across from us and she got mad. Tried to speak to the manager because I am student-parent and had one night out, on my birthday. As a 31 year old back woman I never got loud, nor aggressive. The manager did NOT bother listening and only cared what his insecure waitress had to say.
I would like to mention we gave her cash for the hookah and had to beg for our $50 back! Wow. TRASH and jealous employees!

A WAITRESS SHOULD NEVER DICTATE IF A PAYING CUSTOMER SHOULD LEAVE! EVER!

PS is a hookah-dessert-cocktail lounge with chill zen like vibes. The theme of the restaurant is Urban Zen boho garden. When you arrive on St. Mary’s there are bouncers who check ID. I advise everyone to either make a reservation or come early. We were lucky to enjoy DJ Uncool Kev. He played a lot of 2000’s jams. We had a party of 4 and there were several others with rather large parties. This is a cool spot to have an intimate date or a chill birthday gathering. Our waitress was Movani who was excellent. I appreciate how professional and well dressed the staff was. We ordered expresso martinis, the gummy bear shot and the Came Thru Drippin Tequila herbal cocktail. All of our drinks were perfect. We also enjoyed 2 rather large heavenly slices of the Red Wedding Cake and Pumpkin spice. Both perfection. You must order any of the cake slices ! They are huge and shareable !!! I don’t smoke so we did not order hookah.

The reservation system here is helpful and limits tables to a hour and a half seating time. I wish they had a large back patio for dancing . There is a front garden where you can take adorable photos and enjoy your party outside. Check them out one weekend. This is definitely something modern and that’s what downtown Raleigh needs.

The cocktails were tasty, though a bit pricy at $14 each. The atmosphere was very stylish and modern, and the floor plan was open. The hookah was the smoothest I have ever had, and reasonably-priced at $25 (which was split between my group, consisting of 2 couples). The crowd was steady but not overwhelming by any stretch. Our server, while very sweet, was awful. She came to our table maybe twice in the span of 2 hours, and that was only after we tried to get her attention repeatedly and wound up going to the bar to try and tab out. We noticed her spending plenty of time checking in on other tables, so we aren’t sure what the issue was there, but we certainly would have ordered more, if she had checked in more frequently. We wound up having to order from other servers or directly from the bar because our server was so inattentive. A forewarning – they WILL tack on an automatic tip of 22% if you are a “large party”, which apparently means 4 people. We didn’t realize this until after we paid, added a tip and were texted an itemized receipt. We weren’t happy about that (I’ve never been anywhere where a “large party” is considered less than 6 people) but we still had a good time, and now we know for future visits. I’d go back, it’s a good change of pace from the usual pubs/dive bars.
