Another thing I noticed is that there wasn’t a posted menu anywhere inside. Instead, the waitress handed us laminated menus. Not a big deal, but it seemed a little unusual that they don’t have a sign or board as almost every other restaurant would have?
We each ordered the Big Bogey Bacon Burger ($15.50) along with a side of fries ($5). The food came out quickly, and the quality was solid. The burgers tasted fresh, the toppings were correct, the buns were warm, and overall it felt well put together. The fries were tasty, though cut very thin—more shoestring style rather than the thicker fries you often see elsewhere.
The service was kind and easygoing, which added to the experience. Overall, I’d recommend Bogey’s Burgers and would eat there again. My only hesitation is the value—at about $20 for a burger and fries, you might find your money stretches a little further at some of Bend’s other local burger spots.
Tonight we got take out from Bogey’s. Not only did they get my burger wrong (it had two slices of tomato that I had requested be completely withheld), but my husband and I got almost half way through our burgers and found they were pink! We are not ok with pink on a burger, we like well done and thought we didn’t need to specify. It literally says on a sign inside the establishment “all burgers cooked well done”, even called and confirmed it with the staff after the fact as this was a take out order. Since the burgers were halfway eaten through, I didn’t even request a refund or a remake (additional story on why to follow) but had to make them aware that the burgers were not cooked to their own specifications and hopefully they would be more diligent next time.
Now as to why I didn’t ask for a refund. This sadly isn’t the first time this has happened. Again, it was another take out order. When I called and asked for a remake or refund they told us to bring THE ENTIRE ORDER back, when only 2 of the 4 burgers were wrong. We didn’t want the CORRECT burgers to get cold taking them back to the restaurant then back home. We didn’t want those remade just the ones they got WRONG. They claimed that taking back the order was their policy to get a refund or remake. What?! So no, this time they were wrong I did NOT request a refund or remake because I don’t trust in their willingness to correct their mistakes.
After multiple failed attempts, we are no longer going to return and they are no longer going to be our recommendation for a great burger in Bend. For how expensive it is, they should be making the orders correctly. Do better, Bogey’s.
Absolutely fantastic service, attentive, caring, and a great listener.
The burger was awesome, and there were great free add on’s, including pineapple. How can you go wrong with that.?
Sweet potato fries were hot and crispy, perfectly done.
Oregon shake was delicious also.
Now I am in a food coma, party of 2 very happy customers, great stuff.
You should add some more vegan options and cater to people with a gluten or wheat allergy just a suggestion
They have two sizes, the small is a 2oz patty and for $1 more, the large is 4oz of beef.
Outdoor tables only while they train more staff to upkeep the dining room (October 2021).
Toasted bun and bacon was pretty solid too. Photos of a plain burger attached.
