Solid for being the only place open, the kitchen obviously loved cooking the food they make and the waitress did a wonderful job getting the food out when it was hot and super tasty. It’s typical dinner food, but the care in the preparation was real.
My chicken fried steak was super crisp and hot and the pepper milk gravy was rich with pepper and flavor and exactly the right constancy for the solid mashed potatoes. My husband’s buffalo burger was cooked the way he liked it and the toppings were fresh. The French fries were glorious, with the skins still on and thick but still crisp and just got from the oil.
The waitress was the only one there at the dinner hour, so service was understandably slow, for all that she really knew what she was doing. She was also really friendly and helpful when she could be

Easy to spot as you drive through the main strip coming into town. If you are looking for dinner, this basically is your only option as the other restaurants are not open for dinner.
It is basically a bar with a restaurant attached (or is that a restaurant with a bar attached?). As the only restaurant open for the dinner hour, they were busy and there were only two waitresses (also playing roles of busboy, cocktail waitress and cashier!). Food was good; typical supper club fare (if you know, you know). In our party we had a burger, top sirloin and fried cod. The last two items came with soup of the day (homemade tomato which could have been better if emulsified), choice of potato, dinner roll (which waitress forgot to bring out and we had to ask for), trips to the salad bar and a one scoop ice cream sundae. Prices range from approximately $15 – $28. Given how busy they were and short staffed, service reflected this. Waitress was friendly, just busy! Cook must have been overwhelmed as we had to wait a bit for our food as well.
Again, given it is only place in town open for dinner, the small parking lot was fairly full.
If you deem this review helpful, I would love a

Had the Sirloin special. The delicious salad bar was fresh and plentiful, with everything sitting on a thick bed of ice. The sirloin was perfectly done, exactly “medium” as I asked, and was a good cut of beef. Baked potato was good. Didn’t have a chance to try the soup or the sundae. Servers were friendly and responsive. I recommend this restaurant.

Showed up around 6:00p.m. in the middle of the week just to grab something for a long car-ride home. Stopped in and the hospitality was spectacular. Everyone was extremely friendly and patient as we glossed over an unknown menu. We eventually ordered to go and had a bowl of soup while we waited. The soup of the day was ham and bean and was hot and fresh. Salad and soup is self-served and the salad bar looked fresh. If I ever head back this way, I would recommend stopping back at the Buffalo Bar.

Traveling through the state we stopped here for dinner. It was an ok dinner. The waitress was nice. Once we finished dinner we went to the bar area for drinks. The bartender I believe his name was Toby, a
young kid who was rude… No customer service skills, rude to “out of towners” as we were referred as. Looking back now, he shouldn’t even of been tipped.

Seriously, this sweet little town is losing a restaurant per year. The Rusty Spur and Star Restaurant are no longer. Hubby and I rolled into town and stopped by this establishment. We weren’t particularly hungry so we ordered the ham and bean soup with a side salad. The soup was literally water with great northern beans, diced ham and probably a bag of frozen mixed vegetables. I’m used to a ham and bean soup being thick, smoky and hearty. The ham is supposed to be so tender it melts in your mouth. This ham was crunchy. I also am used to cornbread on the side with a boatload of butter. We got saltines. . Salads were fine. We also had an icy cold Blue Moon. Our server was fantastic! I hope this sweet little town rebounds. The natives are fantastic. Hotels and food need updating.

We loved our visit to the Buffalo Bar And Restaurant. Classic atmosphere, food and service. Gourmet? No. But tasty and a great place to stop whether you’re local or traveling on I-90. We would return for sure.

We arrived for supper at 6:30 pm. There were two tables open in the restaurant and plenty of tables in the bar.. We were informed by a waitress that there was no buffalo available, no sirloin steaks available, and also no baked potatoes. My husband started to laugh because he thought she was joking. She wasn’t. This dark, strange place is like something from back in the 1960’s. It needs updating and probably new management.
