Ordered the 2 meat platter with brisket and burnt ends, okra and mashed potatoes.
Brisket was good, burnt ends were the worst I have ever had. They are not burnt ends, just cubes of meat dipped in sauce.
Sides were good, very good mashed potatoes and okra.
Will try again but would not recommend the burnt ends to anyone, they were more than disappointing.

In one word: overpriced. I spent $15 on a skimpy brisket sandwich that came with fries. I am diabetic and can’t eat potatoes so I was charged an extra $1 to substitute the fries with a 1/4 c of pit beans. With tip I spent almost $20 for a child’s portion of food. The BBQ sauces are horrible. The hickory smell in the restaurant did not show up in their sauces. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Other than the waitress there is nothing on the menu for me so I won’t be back.
So two months later my friends convinced me to give Heady BBQ another try. I ordered the Frito Pie. If nothing else they are consistent. I got my order in a small iron skillet that was the size of a Big Mac. On the bottom was a thin layer of what tasted like canned chili, covered with a good amount of Frito’s, some cheese and maybe 2 tablespoons of burnt ends. The burnt ends did have a good flavor, but the rest of the dish was awful! Again I feel that I was over-charged. $11 for what is equivalent to single serve of Fritos covering the worst canned chili on the planet. The waitress did not ask the table if their food was okay. My guess is they don’t want to know or already know. This is my final review because no amount of talking from friends will ever convince me to go back. My group will either choose another place to eat or they will go without me. I don’t know how Heady stays in business serving their low quality cut rate unprofessional recipes.

Stopped by on home from errands and got bbq pulled pork sandwich and fries. Everything was good! A lot of meat and really liked the crispiness of the tallow fries! Will stop again!

This is a nice, normal BBQ joint. Plusses? Everything seemed to be house made! They have a small selection of beer and had one local craft craft beer on tap. Not too loud, prompt polite service. Food all tastes good. We had burnt ends, and the smoked mac n cheese was particularly yummy. Be sure to ask for the spicy sauce they keep in the back!

For Father’s Day, the Hillbilly decided on BBQ. And since one of my favorites in Springfield was closed, we drove to Republic to get Heady’s BBQ.
Since it was Sunday, they only had the brunch menu, which was a little disappointing. But the food we did get was very good. A nice BBQ joint for a suburb of Springfield.
