The non food picture I included was the “lunch special” that the very nice waitress specifically pointed out to us. It seemed like a good deal until I mentioned the chips and she said that chips actually were NOT included and that she “didn’t know who typed up the special but the owner said no chips and dip to be included”. She specifically drew our attention to that special, we wouldn’t have even noticed it otherwise, and none of us opted for the special since it didn’t seem like a good deal after you take away part of it. (Chips and salsa are $3 on the menu, not sure why it can’t be included in the meal deal). They should probably bite the cost and reprint the lunch special cards or cross off the incorrect portions in sharpie so the servers don’t have to awkwardly explain that…
Other than that service was very slow. We were waiting for one person in our party and ordered drinks. Those came relatively quickly. Our last person showed up and ordered a Dr Pepper which is on the drink list, and was told they don’t have it. He ordered coke instead and it took about as long as us getting our food to get his drink. About 30 minutes by this point. They were also out of Carne Asada which seemed odd on a Friday at lunch time (we were one of two tables in the whole restaurant). You’d think they’d want their popular items going into the weekend.
Overall the food was good (aside from the burgers. I’d suggest sticking to the Mexican fare) and the lunch menu prices were great (not the fake lunch special but the actual lunch page in the menu). The waitress was nice but the wait for food (not her fault), drinks, and extra napkins when we were one of two tables in the place was crazy. Our lunch took an hour and half. So if you are on a tight schedule I wouldn’t recommend.
Definitely my new favorite spot
I got the guac and carne asada. The guac that came with the entree was fine but, the fresh guacamole appetizer is the way to go. They tailored it to exactly how I like it, and served it in a traditional molcajete. The carne asada was also a standout since it was seasoned perfectly and full of flavor.
Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving quality Mexican food with great atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back and try more off the menu!
