Awesome local spot! Amazing patio and great venue for bands. The staff were very welcoming.

Im not sure ill go back to this bar. Ive lived in the area since 2016 and Id visit once a week when im in town. Typically the crowd was friendly and they had occasions live bands.
However on Sunday night, I found the crowd to be cliquish, unfriendly and distant… even had one guy (drunk and on drugs) threaten over a conflict i have nothing to do.
I come out to enjoy a drink and listen to live music and not to meet with drug heads making threats he wont back up .
I ironically recommend this place to a nice couple im in Chattanooga on vacation 2 weeks ago. No more.
If you want divy with a friendly and open crowd… the Pearl or Haucks corner is the better bet.

Had the best time… the jukebox is legendary, had the best selection. Played cards and drank bourbon. Such a rad place and memorable experience.

This is a great bar for hanging out. As I get older, I have trouble hearing in some crowded, noisy bars, but Nachbar is a place where I can actually carry on a conversation. They have a good beer selection. It’s unpretentious. In a neighborhood that can be congested with loudmouths, this is a pleasant respite.

Went there knowing it a a dive bar. Played our wedding song and the bartender skipped it so I went and asked if they could put it back on as that’s our wedding song. Bartender precedes to say you guys were singing and it was annoying so I skipped over and won’t put it back on. Pretty rude service in my opinion. They Played all 70 and 80s songs. So I don’t get how you don’t sing to it. 1 star after that was 4 stars before then.

The place is horrible, don’t go. Huge issues with overcrowding from townies. Nothing to see here. No smiling.
It was a great dog bar until some jerk reported them.
Great (live) music (jukebox is prob best in town), wonderful staff/owners, and great selection. I’ve been going here since it began.
When I’m in town it’s the first place I go, the only place I drink, and the only thing that ever makes me feel homesick. Everywhere I’ve ever lived I’ve searched for a replacement. Everywhere has fallen short.

I was only in Louisville for a weekend but I could see this being one of my favorite bars if I lived nearby. I love dive bars, which from outside appearances you should too if you even want to step inside. There are plenty of little charming quirks for you to take in on first visit, and ample space (both inside and out) and beer options to keep you wanting to come back. FYI – The draft beers are all listed above you, across from the bar, so instead of squinting behind the bartender just turn around

Oh my god. What a jewel. The first TRUE neighborhood bar I’ve ever been to. Good drinks, and super-friendly customers and staff. Can’t imagine next time I’ll be in Louisville, but when I do, I’m definitely coming back.

Nachbar is a great spot for delicious beer and crafty cocktails. No food, but they’ll allow you to have outside food, so long as you are a paying customer. You can bring your dog before midnight, but please only do so if he/she is already trained and good in environments with drunk people and strange dogs. The outdoor seating is also great!

I feel like giving Nachbar 5 stars wouldn’t be true to the nature of Nachbar itself. Everyone’s favorite dive bar. Excellent craft beer selection on tap, but always a cheap selection in there too. Plenty of bottles and cans from around the world. Old, kitschy interior and dog-friendly back patio area. Love this place.
