Authentic and flavoursome.

Service and atmosphere:
Friendly and attentive staff. They were polite and help us decide on our food choices.
The restaurant was clean and organised. I wish they played authentic music which would added to the overall atmosphere.

Food:
The cooks and staff were all native. They prepared very tasty and authentic dishes that were full of flavours and had spot on spiciness. The spices linger on the palette making each bite more enjoyable.
They offer great selection of traditional dishes.

Pricing:
$/$$ – check for two came to $70 and we ordered plenty of food.

Once upon a time (okay, a few Tuesdays ago), I stumbled back into Wula for the second time — and honestly, I’m starting to think the universe was holding out on me all along. This unassuming little spot on Briar Forest is hiding some serious flavor magic.I went for takeout again, ordering the shrimp noodles, chicken fried rice, and a spring roll — the kind of order that says, “I want comfort, but I also want adventure.” Before I could even finish scrolling through my phone, my order was ready — hot, fresh, and smelling like victory. The staff greeted me like I was the prodigal foodie returning home, and that hospitality alone earns bonus points. Prices? Totally fair. Portions? Generous enough that I considered sharing but didn’t.Moral of the story: Wula is the plot twist in my Houston dining story I didn’t see coming. Don’t make my mistake and wait this long to try it — your taste buds deserve their happy ending

Very impressed with this place. We ordered delivery which was very prompt. The sesame chicken was good and very tender. The Wula chicken was extremely good! The Wula had more heat than anticipated, and though my tongue was burning, I couldn’t put it down because it was so flavorful! Both dishes were served with rice and both were $14.00 each. The spring rolls were basic but good. They were an add-on to the order. I will definitely order from this place again. I’m sure they use that heat in their other dishes.

I’ve tried many Sichuan restaurants, and this one is hands down the best and most consistent in flavor. Every dish is well-balanced, bold, and authentic. If you’re a fan of spicy food, this place is a must-try. Highly recommended!

We decided to venture outside of Chinatown for some of the best Sichuan cuisine in Houston. Upon arriving, we were greeted by tasteful and eloquent decor as well as friendly staff. The tables were equipped with traditional silverware as well as disposable chopsticks. Adequate for our liking.

After placing our order, we rolled out our traditional place setting and prepared for a feast. We ordered the Sichuan Crispy Chicken, Sichuan Beef, and Sichuan Jumbo Shrimp. They were very delicious. The jumbo shrimp was the most unique compared to other sichuan restaurants we have eaten at and probably the best of the three dishes. The chicken and beef were on par with other highly rated Sichuan restaurants in Chinatown.

The service was very good. Water and rice refills were on point. The waitresses were friendly and attentive.

If you want to try something outside of Chinatown or simply don’t want to deal with Houston traffic, this is a nice little gem in the world of sichuan cuisine.

Nice decorations in the restaurant with many seatings. We ordered dry fried intestine, sour shredded potatoes and pineapple fried rice. All of them were delicious. Authentic Sichuan food that satisfied my craving!
Update: we have come a few times so far, and we thoroughly enjoyed Mongolian triple, twice cooked pork. The dry pot left something to be desired due to the dry heat.

Update: the triple delights and beef dish we recently got were too greasy and we think we might consider other options than this place

Stopped by while my tire was getting fixed across the street. The menu has a wide selection of dishes. I went with a beef dish that was delicious and had a nice spicy burn. Service was fast and attentive. A staff member came by to ask if I needed more rice, which I really appreciated. The dining area was clean and nicely decorated. I didn’t see a lunch menu. This place would be great to go with others so several dishes could be tasted. Note only non-alcoholic drinks are served.

I will definitely be going again. I did not dine in this time. I was in a rush, so I called my order in and picked it up.

The place looks nice and casual, and I will be eating there.

I only gave the atmosphere 4 stars because I didn’t really experience it I just walked in and left, but liked what I saw enough to want to dine in at some point.

All the staff that saw me greeted me with a smile and acknowledgment, and that’s very important in any restaurant, regardless of whether you’re picking up or dining in.

The food was great and I highly recommend going there.

Environment: Very good, better than the Chinese restaurants in Chinatown, mainly frequented by Americans. The service is also good, and the dishes are served quickly.

Taste: American-style Sichuan cuisine, tailored to American tastes. Among the dishes we ordered, the orange chicken was the best, with a skillful thickening technique comparable to sweet and sour pork. The other dishes were average; the sauce for the spring rolls and steamed dumplings was sweet. The taste of the husband and wife lung slices was light, lacking the savory and spicy flavor, and the beef had an unprocessed gamy taste, with insufficient salt making it detectable. The broth for the beef noodle soup, on the other hand, was very salty.
