This ice cream hut in Thomaston, just outside of Rockland makes their own hard serve. They have a nice selection of flavors and the portions are huge.
I loved my milkshake made with the soft serve. Just the right flavor and consistency. The milkshake made with their scooped ice cream was thicker, but I preferred my soft serve version.
I think the scooped ice cream is fine. It is a bit thicker than I like. I particularly recommend the caramel one, however. I would skip the vanilla.

Pretty good ice cream – now they even have some barricades up to keep kids out of the road (major update) and some picnic tables on the other side of the parking lot.

My family and I stopped here on our way through the Northeast. Dorman’s is an amazing little ice cream shop. The prices were reasonable and the serving sizes were generous. They really pack the pint containers full. The flavor was amazing and the texture was excellent. If you’re in the area, stop by Dorman’s and give it a try.
