The burrito is $16 (which is still expensive, but it’s not as bad). It’s a really good burrito but yeah NYC tax.

We’d heard so many great things about this place, and as big burrito lovers, we were really excited to try it. We ordered the breakfast burrito w/ bacon and the carne asada. The tortillas on both were perfectly grilled — just the right amount of chew with great flavor.

The carne asada was solid, and adding guacamole made it a solid burrito.

Unfortunately, the breakfast burrito was quite bland. Even after adding bacon, there wasn’t much flavor, and I could barely taste it. Personally, I find the combination of rajas and pico de gallo inferior in every aspect compared to the green chile and hash brown options that places like Ursula and Santa Fe BK offer.

Of course, flavors are subjective, but knowing those other options exist, I probably wouldn’t come back. Also, there is no seating area.

Worth the hype. Get the bean and cheese burrito, a Mexican sprite, and 2 cups of that green sauce. Like this review after you do it to let me know it hit. I’ll be back whenever I’m in town. Thanks SonDelNorth, also guy working the counter was super nice. Girl working was helpful and cool. Big boss with Mac book was educated. Lil homie in the back is the tortilla and burrito master, thanks bro!

Pollo Asado
Carne Asada

Appearance: 8.9/10
Taste: 10/10

Located approximately 1.5 miles from the Brooklyn Bridge pedestrian walkway is a Mexican spot specializing in Sonoran style burritos.

Unlike traditional burritos, these do not include rice.

Pollo Asado:
This burrito was filled with grilled chicken and strips of poblano peppers.

Also included is a cup of salsa verde, which gave it a nice kick.

Carne Asada:
This burrito may look small in size, but it was packed with protein and flavor.

The employee unintentionally gave me green sauce instead of red sauce, but it was still finger lickin’ good.

What really caught my eye on both burritos was the line of char marks from the grill.

The dining section is limited, so I recommend taking the order to go.

This location may be a hole in the wall, but its riceless burritos are superior.

honestly really enjoyed the cauliflower chorizo and potato burrito. it was super flavorful and i added guacamole which gave it the creaminess. I also got it with a side of their green sauce n it hit!!! it was very filling too. wish all the little add ons weren’t so expensive but it was one of the best vegan/vegetarian burritos I’ve had in the city!! no seating inside btw it’s a good spot for grab and go.

Had high hopes after hearing so many rave reviews about son del north. Unfortunately we thought it was average at best.

To start off, we ordered 3 burritos. The breakfast burrito, pollo asado, and frijoles con queso. We made the mistake of not checking our order before getting home and realized they forgot our frijoles con queso burrito. Huge bummer since that was the one I was most excited to try, but that’s on us for not checking.

The tortilla itself on the burrito is great. Super soft and really fresh. That’s about the only thing we enjoyed. The pollo asado and breakfast burritos were fine. We’ve had better at other places in the area. The sauce is ok. I think overall it was just fine, nothing that really wowed us.

TLDR: Solid and simple burritos, veg-friendly.

Had the frijoles con queso burrito – was quite tasty, especially with the green sauce (which is a must). A bit on the greasy / buttery side, so eating a burrito alone might be too heavy (esp since no rice or lettuce / veggies) – imagine with more protein, would be even better. Will come back for the pollo asado.

A small place with no seating that specializes in burritos, which is a great love of mine in fast food in New York. The smell outside and the number of customers immediately drew me inside. I ordered and within a few minutes it arrived. The price was fair and the quality of the burrito was high. I gave it 4 stars because, as I said, I am a burrito lover and I have eaten better in New York, but it is definitely a cool place. The location is excellent. It is one of my favorite streets in New York and I will definitely visit this street again. To taste the other restaurants there, I received amazing recommendations. In summary: Amazing service, quality of products is noticeable as high quality (the sauce on the side was amazing but the content inside the burrito was a bit of a contrast, excellent location! Very fast service. If you are in the area and looking for a quick burrito, this is definitely an interesting place to taste.

When the scent of grilled meat hits you on Orchard St, resistance is futile. Walked into Son del North and came out with a carne asada burrito the size of a forearm. No tables, no chairs, no problem—real men eat burritos standing up like gladiators.

Service? Fast. Price? Fair. Burrito? A high-quality heavyweight contender (though that sauce on the side lowkey stole the spotlight). If you’re prowling the Lower East Side and need a quick burrito fix, this spot is a solid move.

Verdict: burrito craving—handled like a champ.

I’m so sorry but the bean is cheese burrito is simply not good. It is as thought the blended beans and cheese together so it’s just one mushy texture. The tortilla is underdone practically raw. The one saving grace is the green sauce but it could’ve use some heat. I’m sad I really wanted to like this place. I’m from Texas so maybe my expectations for Mexican are higher.
