This family run establishment was outstanding in many ways. Our server Alexa was very cute and on top of things and treated us as if we were in her home. Her Dad was cooking and even though there was a short wait on the food timing we understood… Everything is scratch made here and the Dad was the only one cooking today. Alexa delivered a very nice experience for us and the food was delicious and quite unique in preparation and presentation, we loved it. From outside this place doesn’t look like much and the street view and interior could be cleaned and improved upon to make it more of a clean atheistic. We were wanting to go to a Cafe and found one of the best by word of mouth. We were so glad to have showed up here. If it weren’t for the ceiling needing cleaned above our table today I’d have given five stars across the board. With a sound cleaning of the restaurant and some paint I think this place would have a much needed charming update. Thank you Alexa and family for being so amazing. We will be back and I hope this review helps. Everyone should go here for a visit. Wow Yum.

The owner was super friendly and attentive, I don’t think I saw the bottom of my coffee cup until I left. I ordered the joes scramble with house potatoes. They are super generous with the joes scramble and it was so good. The personal highlight for me was the house potatoes, perfectly seasoned and mixed with veggies. Atmosphere is super nice and homey

First timers here at Joanna’s Cafe, late on a Friday morning, came I from Menifee. The place was packed with almost every table filled. We were seated right away, and our drink orders were taken just as quickly. My wife had the small breakfast, and I had the corned beef hash topped with three poached eggs. The food came out fast, hot and deliciously presented. Wife’s bacon was perfectly crispy, and egg ordered over hard was on point. My poached eggs…I couldn’t have asked for better. We couldn’t drink our coffee fast enough, because our server, Alexa, frequently checked on us. She was like a one woman serving army taking care of every table in the place by herself!!! She didn’t miss a beat. The owner, Jose Duran, even came out of the kitchen, coffee pot in hand, checking in with every customer in the place. Definitely a must visit! We’ll certainly be back again…it’s worth the drive!

Woodcrest local — nice to see a small restaurant still providing quality service in an area that’s being consumed by fast food.

The people are nice and respectful.
The food is good and the coffee is hot.
I really like their pancakes and menudo is good as well.

My only advice is to give the outdoor dining and the restrooms some love.

This is a hidden gem and my new favorite location lately to enjoy breakfast, brunch or lunch. A warm, small place, decorated in countryside style welcomes you once you enter bringing up memories from the time you spend on grandma’s kitchen table. The smiling and helpful waiters contribute to the cozy atmosphere. The food is delicious and the care and love in which is prepared you can taste it in every single bite. My favorite dish for breakfast is the French toast. It reminds me of my mama’s homemade food.

Food was good, servers were nice… went with coworkers and we all liked it, will be going back to try something else. I spent a little over $20 for a salad and a few slices of avocado.

I don’t like leaving such low star reviews, but sometimes you just cannot leave out the details.

It was a Sunday morning, so expect it to be full on such at day and time. There was hardly any spots to park at, we circled around once and someone was leaving and I got their spot. The actual lot has a bunch of pot holes, and needs to be redone.

I walked in and it was smokey inside, the kitchen may have burned something a few minutes prior to my arrival, and they had their backdoor open for ventilation. I wasn’t greeted immediately, but I was seated fairly fast. The waitress was nice, but almost charged for 2 cups of coffee (more on that later). So their food was “OKAY”, nothing special. It tasted a little bland/plain. Their menu states that their meals come with a “generous” serving of their Home Fries, but there was hardly any on the plate. Which bummed me out because I was looking forward to them. Their salsa was a small size as well, I had to ask for extra salsa. As I was starting to eat, the kitchen seemed to have burned something else, because there was another big wave of smoke that filled up the entire place. It was bad, I heard people coughing. So I asked my waitress to see about opening up the front door to allow for more ventilation to get rid of the smoke, she nicely replied with, “yes I will let them know asap”. About ten minutes went by and the front door wasn’t opened. When she came back to check on me, I was done and requested the check so I could hurry up, pay and leave, the smoke was pretty bad. I received my check and there was a charge for two coffees. I was a party of one, so I didn’t understand why there were two coffee charges. I asked my waitress and she immediately took it off the bill, she fixed it without a problem and apologized.

As I walked out, I walked past the hostess and suggested to them to open the front door because of all the smoke, she said, “oh yes, so sorry about that, we are the new owners here”. I believe they may not have things down well just yet, perhaps in a few months or so, I may try again. But as of now, I do not recommend this place.

First time here and just have to mention: as of 8/26/2017, the sign outside the restaurant says Joanna’s cafe, but rest assured, it is the same “Lori’s cafe” that you see in the reviews on both Google maps and yelp. The name has been changed, but hasn’t been updated in here yet.

The food was delicious, and the portion sizes are good. It had that home cook taste that proved the food was cooked to order. My reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is simply because the price was a little on the higher end. Definitely more than I was expecting to pay.

The service was great, the servers were friendly, fast, and treated you like family. Overall I would definitely recommend this place for some delicious breakfast!
