Ok. So I don’t normally give all 5 in all honesty. This place is very tasty couldn’t get photos of everything we had because it was that good!! If you are in the area and a looking for top quality sushi then you have found the place this the second location I have been too. I highly recommend this business. Toby our sever was an absolute saint, he was so professional and willing to go out of the way to make our experience the best it can be. Everything’s ng was on point. This isn’t that big of an issue but we ordered shoshito peppers and they were spicier then a serrano, but Toby was able to help by finding something that wasn’t trying to murder my mouth. So go have some fun and eat some great quality !!!!!

I love all the Katsuya locations I’ve visited but this one is usually the best. Fish quality is always just a bit better than the other locations. I had a few of my normal dishes today and I’m not sure if it was me or just the fact that they were particularly on point today… what im trying to say is that it was gd delicious.

I’ve been a loyal customer of this sushi restaurant for a long time because the food has always been excellent and the service used to be just as wonderful. Unfortunately, tonight’s experience was beyond disappointing. I politely asked to modify a roll I always order by switching out one ingredient due to a specific allergy — something they have accommodated before without any issue. Instead of helping, the server was extremely rude and insisted they “never” make modifications, even implying that I was lying about it being done in the past. When I asked to speak to the manager, he backed her up and said he had “never seen that happen,” which made me feel dismissed and embarrassed. After I got home, I checked my electronic receipt from just two months ago and found clear proof that the exact roll had been modified as I requested before — it was literally written on the receipt. I was not mistaken, and I certainly was not lying. To make matters worse, the server’s attitude continued to be cold and disrespectful; she didn’t even properly ask for my order afterward, and when I requested a to-go bag, she dropped it on the table carelessly. I am truly upset because this was once a place I trusted and enjoyed, but the way I was treated tonight was unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely unacceptable.
I’ve recommended this restaurant to many family members and friends over the years because I truly enjoyed it, which makes this experience even more disappointing.

Amazing first experience here. In a non-descript building that was a surprise, very low key outside, then you walk in and it’s bustling with activity. From the reception that greet you to the wait staff roating in constantly checking if you need something. Our waiter (Hector) was very clear and accommodating to my partners specific prohibitions with some ingredients. Nothing seemed to flustered him. The menu offered some unique items, like the spicy Tuna on a small square of crispy rice. Very creative and yummy. The kitchen was full of chefs bustling creating some amazing dished. The miso marinated cod was great as well. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The place has been consistent for the past 20 years and for as long as I can remember. Everything is fresh and tastes good. The service is good and atmosphere is typical Japanese restaurant nothing crazy or extra. Great place for friends family or date

I had a very disappointing experience at this sushi place. I called ahead to ask about the price and was clearly told on the phone that the cost would be $38. When I arrived in person, they suddenly charged me $43 for the exact same order. This has never happened to me at the Woodland Hills location, where I always pay $38 with no issues.
When I questioned the price difference, the owner himself started arguing with me instead of trying to resolve the situation professionally. Instead of honoring what I was told over the phone, he became defensive and rude. On top of that, the girl who answered the phone earlier was also very rude and unhelpful.
This kind of behavior is unacceptable. Customers should not be misled about prices and then treated badly when they point it out. I felt disrespected and taken advantage of.
DON’T COME HERE AND DON’T BUY HERE

Busy place but they’re always on point. Great once a month sushi restaurant. The selected nigiri is such a great deal it’s like $22 and you get 10 PCs of chefs choice sushi + cali roll and a soup and a salad. Can’t beat that with a bat. Quality is always on point. Servers are all super nice and attentive. If you have allergies the staff is super helpful with accommodations. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!
Have to mention the parking (which has nothing to do with the restaurant) I would recommend street parking or anywhere but that back parking lot. Parking staff is a nightmare and overpriced.

Katsu-ya offers exceptional service and premium sushi. The albacore garlic and crispy onion sashimi was exceptionally tender and flavorful, while the toro was fresh and expertly sliced. The restaurant’s vibrant atmosphere and welcoming ambiance attract a loyal customer base.

Love this place for a traditional girls night or even treating myself to lunch. The salmon with caviar, the popcorn shrimp, and the alborcore with crispy onions.
