I headed to the U District to have lunch with my son at a little thai restaurant in the district, which was appropriately named “Little Thai Restaurant.” Haha. The small restaurant was packed and very loud, but it had a positive vibe. We ordered Massaman Curry with tofu and Pad Thai with tofu. Both dishes were good. The service was great!

I love this hidden gem in the U-District. Tucked away downstairs this unassuming Thai restaurant serves delicious Thai staples and dishes in a relaxed and laid back environment. The food is always served quickly and piping hot making it an ideal place to get lunch. My favorite dish is the Jungle Curry which is flavorful, healthy, and filling. The options of protein to add to your curry is also a great option depending on diet and preference.

The service and atmosphere were fine. You have to flag down a server whenever you need anything instead of them coming to check on you much, which is fine but can be difficult if they’re busy with many tables. All the staff members were polite and helpful. However, our food was sub-par and disappointing. We ordered the drunken noodles and Panang curry, both hot, as well as the papaya salad and two sides of rice. Neither main dish was spicy at all but the papaya salad was, which was nice at least.

The drunken noodles were hammered while cooking to the point where the “noodles” were mushy and falling apart into goo. The curry was okay. All the vegetables felt undercooked in both meals. Both tasted extremely one note — mostly something like soy sauce for the drunken noodles. We are on vacation and felt like this was a wasted dining out opportunity. Super disappointing.

We were in the area and planned to come to this place for dinner. In order to use the restroom, you have to use one of their passes which has a key on it. The restrooms were a little dirty and not well-maintained as evidenced by the lack of soap and paper towels, however, I was grateful for the chance to use the facilities. I got the phad see ew with fried tofu, and my partner got the Thai pulled pork. Our server was Pete, but someone else came by to take our order and bring our food out. The phad see eq was delicious. I do not usually get tofu with this dish, but I decided to try something different. The tofu went really well with the noodles, egg, cabbage, and broccoli. The Thai pulled pork was absolutely delicious! It came with some sort of dipping sauce that was equally delicious. We had a really nice meal here, and our dishes both were under $15 which made it a reasonably-priced dinner. They also have some fish tanks which looked well-maintained and very nice. I highly recommend this place!

Very affordable Thai food, especially for the area, but unfortunately I’m not a huge fan of their food. I know a lot of folks who are tho so maybe it’s just me. Got the Tom Yum soup here once and the chicken Jungle Curry another time and wasn’t a fan of either. I think I liked the red curry more. The Jungle curry tasted a lot like fish sauce and the chicken lacked flavor.

All day combo is a great deal, like $15 for pad thai, a spring roll, and rice and curry.

This place was pretty decent, not the best Thai food but not terrible either. Staff was friendly, easy to order, and it was clean.

We had Panang, which was amazing, yellow curry fried rice which was good, and spicy basil noodles which was just okay.

Spice levels are amazing 1-3, we had a 2 and it wasn’t very spicy.

Overall worth coming here if you want Thai
