Speaking of dry, let’s talk about the water. It tastes like it was sourced directly from a medieval moat or a very clean toilet. It was so bad it felt intentional. Is this a conspiracy? Do pubs make the tap water taste like liquid pennies just so you’re forced to pivot to a $9 pint? I’m onto you, Rockford. The struggle is real.
For the main event, I had the Korean Chicken Bowl. To be fair, it was… mid. The flavors were technically in the same room, and they shook hands, but they weren’t exactly best friends. Did I finish it? Yes. Would I have finished it if I hadn’t smoked a massive bowl before walking in? The jury is still out. Let’s just say the “chef” of my appetite (the green kind) did a lot of the heavy lifting for the kitchen that night.
Had an amazing Ramen here. It was missing something tho. The broth base is not what I needed. I wish they had Shoyu or Tonkotsu base.
I asked the server, it was the lovely Alexa, about the soup base. I was sure that the soup base was neither Shoyu nor Tonkotsu.
Other than that, everything else was a blast! I drove from Seattle all the way to Prince George to go to Alaska. Stopped by Rockford Grill because I stayed at Sandman Signature.
Alexa was outstanding! She took care of me and explained everything I needed to know about the ramen.
I wish the restaurant opened late since I got there super late and wanted some food and a glass of wine.
Overall, great experience! I’d love to be back again one day and try their other food!
Staff were all nice, friendly and professional.
Their menu Impressed me, and I must say I had hard time to choose what to eat with all the good meals on the menu.
Not only you can get many meals as usual in any restaurant but also, they have a great selection of Asian fusion selection.
I decided to go with Pad Thai with chicken which I did not regret my choice!
It was delicious, well cooked and well seasoned. I complimented the chef for making such an amazing Asian meal.
Good drink and desserts menu.
Sporty atmosphere with TVs to watch a good game.
All and all, if you are travelling to Prince George, or even live here, make sure to stop by here and enjoy a good meal and drink.
Big shout out to Karissa.
For cocktails, better go to Montana’s (but only cocktails)
honestly, the best thing I can say is it was warm and clean. I am giving the server a little leeway because she was on her own. The restaurant wasn’t busy but the tables that were there were quite spread out. So she was running from one end to the other and back.
The food was awful. I had the wonton soup. There were six wontons in my soup. At 16.00 a bowl, thats about 2.60 per piece, there was nothing else in the bowl aside from the tepid, blandest broth I’ve ever tasted. The wontons didnt add much more flavor. Someone else had the pork ramen, with the same experience – cold and bland. A glass of salt water would have had more flavor. The Thai noodles were the same, as was the lemon grass chicken. The only dish that had any flavor other than salt was the chicken lettuce wrap. I would’ve said something at the table but my granddaughters said it would have embarrassed them.
I spent 157.00 on lunch, including the 24.00 tip, which was 15%. My child tried to leave an extra ten on the table but I took it back. I shouldn’t have to go home and make a sandwich after spending that much money.
This was a Friday afternoon around 4:30p and the restaurant was quiet with a few customers. They gave me a small booth and Emily who was delightful and efficient severed me. I had a few appetizers as i wasn’t too hungry. The Potstickers and Governor Tso’s Chicken. Both were delicious and decent portion size for an appetizer. It was still happy hour so there were a very good deal.
I stayed awhile and had the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert which was to die for!
The space is comfortable, not overly noisy, and relaxed, with no pressure to hurry up. Wish they had one where I lived!
