We eat dinner here on a Wednesday and loved of the service. The food on the other hand not so much. Ordered some margaritas and they came out great and were very tasty. The little lady ordered the mustang platter it was pretty small quantities and overcooked. I ordered enchiladas and I got corn tortillas rolled up with hamburger meat inside topped with white queso.

We love this restaurant. We are locals and visit frequently. This weekend, we had them cater for Christmas, pick up order for 20 people. It was great! Nice and hot, and a ton of food! I will have left overs for days. Please give them a chance if you haven’t, keep this gem open. We love the food and staff, and appreciate them so much.

Cantina Grill, located in the heart of downtown Ooglagah on West Cooweescoowee Avenue. It is easy to find from Highway 169. Just look for the longest street sign. My best guess is that the word is a form of profanity meaning, “something went wrong.”

My initial impression of the restaurant prior to the visit, was formed from the menu found on their Facebook page. Queso and lots of it. Available on everything. I didn’t want a plate of queso; so, I went with the fall back, and usually fool proof, carne asada. This is usually a safe selection; like ordering a club sandwich at an unfamiliar diner, when you are not too sure how good the food is.

The carne asada was not spectacular, but also not disappointing. Several medallions of very thin lean steak, probably sirloin, well-seasoned, grilled to a char on the outside, with a helping of grilled onions. The beans and rice were fantastic; both flavorful. Cooked by an expert. This is not quite what I would call a standard OkieMex restaurant. Authentic though. It has a smaller menu and a couple of unique menu items. One of them, the Mango Chicken, which my wife ordered.

So then, “Mango Chicken.” Not particularly attractive on the plate, but captivating in flavor. She raved about the taste. Strips of wonderfully seasoned grilled chicken breast and shrimp, mixed and grilled with chopped mango, peppers and tomatoes. A mouth filling mixture of flavors. Spice, shrimp, chicken, sweet mango, a little bitterness from green peppers and the tartness of the tomato. Add a side of the tasty beans and rice. She rated the meal very high on her list of favorite Mexican meals, “I would come here again for this Mango Chicken!” The unique and refreshing taste of this is worth a try; unless of course, you have your mind set on a queso smothered something.

Good chips and salsa. The salsa picante is brought out in little plastic cups, (individual adult dosage size) with lids, for your safety. Real HEAT! It should be kept in child proof containers. It was good!

A jolly, pleasant, friendly, young lady took care of us. Great service. Laid-back small-town atmosphere.

Love this local Mexican restaurant. Street tacos are amazing and gluten free!

They make the best sangria margarita as well! Love the veggie griller too! Hot, fresh and fast!

Food is good. The chorizo queso with peppers is so good. The place is clean. The service is pretty terrible. No one is rude, the servers just disappear, don’t refill any drinks, chips, salsa. You have to ask for things that should be offered. Takes forever to get the check paid. I hope they learn better service because I want the restaurant to survive.

This was an amazing and tasty lunch. I had the Mustang platter which was similar to one of my all time favorite cantina dishes. It was packed with flavor! Super friendly staff and no long wait for such an amazing meal. If I was forced by gunpoint to pick something out that I had to critique, I’d say the salsa was a bit sweet. But it was still tasty. I’d give the a 6 ⭐️ if I could! I’ll be eating here again!

Service took a minute after we ordered but it went from us being the only ones in there to packed within 6 minutes of us sitting down, so I think they just got overwhelmed.

Our drinks came out fast. The margaritas are HUGE! the food wa delicious, hot and accurate when we got it.

Food was pretty good. I had the Oologah bowl. Was very heavy on the spinach (seemed to be buried under the food when it came out and I took the pic), but otherwise good. The shrimp was cooked just right and not over-cooked.

Rice and beans were on par for what I would expect.

Was a bit disappointed that I only got three (or maybe it was four?) tortillas though. I asked for more and was a little surprised to see the $0.99 charge for another three. But whatever, not that big of a deal.

Salsa was mild but not bad.

Kids were happy enough with their Mac n cheese and quesadilla.

Ate lunch with my boyfriend after a trip to the tag agency. I had the Mustang platter, he got the Tomahawk Burrito and we shared a Chorizo dip with the chips and salsa. Everything was fresh and delicious. The sweet tea was excellent and the service was fast and friendly. The portions are also generous. We got full quickly. We will definitely be back. It’s worth the drive from Owasso.

Waitress was hard to find for refills because she was to busy talking.
The food was bland and not much of the Shrimp Fajitas.
Overcharged for meal according to Menu and when brought to her attention she said it’s wasn’t her and no Manager was there to deal with it. That’s how the register rings it up.
Not going to be returning!
