Staff is always friendly with our kids, great portions, delicious fried rice. BUT is still closed today Dec 14, despite google maps saying is open.
I recently visited Samurai Greenville and unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. We initially wanted hibachi but were told there was a 25-minute wait, so we opted to dine at the restaurant instead. Upon being seated, we noticed several dirty tables around us, which was not a good first impression.
When our orders were taken, mine was incorrect. I ordered steak, shrimp, and chicken but only received steak and shrimp—no chicken. Additionally, I was served one iced tea, which was empty within minutes, and no refills were offered. I had to get my own refill at the bar. We were also supposed to receive soup and salad, but these were never offered.
To make matters worse, the table next to us also had complaints and requested to speak with a manager. Overall, the service was disorganized, and the attention to detail was lacking. I hope management addresses these issues to improve the customer experience.
The hostess was as friendly and welcoming as a prison guard.
As for the restaurant itself… yikes. The carpet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since the 90s. Just patches of disease and distain.
Tables were so greasy the kids were finger painting and drawing designs. Ugh.
The chicken? Let’s just say it was so overcooked I nearly broke a tooth.
The atmosphere is…well…bipolar. Is it a Crab Shack? Or is it Hibachi? It’s like thinking you’re taking a gulp of sweet tea but then realizing it’s Coke.
Would I go back? Only if I’m filming an episode of “Restaurants You Regret.”
-Staff was very friendly and attentive
-The restaurant as a whole was very clean! A lot of restaurants struggle with this
-I LOVED the ginger salad dressing!
-Soup was very flavorful
-Our cook was very nice
-Food was fresh, tasteful, and well cooked (only thing I wish is for the rice to have little carrots or something else besides just egg)
-Food was not overpriced either, we had plenty left to take home
When we walked in, you could hear someone over in the hibachi area. After waiting a few minutes and not seeing anyone, I popped my head over into the hibachi room and a cook walked out to get someone for us which was helpful. We were going for sushi and when asked if we wanted a booth or table, I said booth yet we were sat at a table.
The girl who helped us was very kind and polite. We were going back and forth about what to order. When our rolls came, I asked for some sauces which weren’t brought out right away so I couldn’t eat until she came back and I had to ask again. We weren’t given any napkins when seated or when the food was brought, and we weren’t asked if our food was good until the end which was counterproductive.
Overall, the sushi was decent. My spicy tuna roll had tempura flakes in it which was just strange. Filler? I’m not a fan of that part and not sure why that would be in there (this isn’t normal for a spicy tuna roll). The Crazy Roll states on the menu it has two shrimp tempura pieces in it which is not true. There was only one.
While we were eating, a man had mopped the restrooms but here is the kicker….. he then moved into the dining area without changing the water.
Very interesting visit. I have mixed emotions about this place.
Hibachi Chef Jordan was a riot. More comedian than your usual avg hibachi. Providing entertainment along with comfort food, he was most excellent with up to date jokes…
Then we got birthday cake and drum performance for free! My son was thrilled.
Great job guys!!!!
