Taste of Persia = mouth-watering deliciousness. Could be my new favorite restaurant. Get the butternut squash bolani. It’s life-changing. It’s the dish that looks like crêpes in the photo. The shami kebab was tender and served with a tasty tomato sauce. If you get the eggplant appetizer, it comes with a giant round bread bigger than your head. Friendly staff & you get a 4% discount if you pay cash . 10/10 would recommend !

If you appreciate Afghan cuisine or possess a penchant for exploring novel culinary experiences, I highly recommend visiting Taste of Persia. The décor is exceedingly refined, the wait staff was courteous, attentive, and provided expert recommendations. The cuisine was exceptionally flavorful and aromatic. We opted for the Bolani, and I was pleasantly surprised by the butternut squash variety, which was outstanding. For the entrée, we selected the Mantu, and the combination of flavors and textures was truly exceptional. If you have the opportunity, I encourage you to dine at Taste of Persia for a truly delightful culinary experience.

My wife and I came here for part of our date night. We read the reviews and felt good about going. The food is absolutely amazing! For our appetizer we got the Bolani. I got the Mantu. And my wife got the Chicken Biryani. It was all delicious!!!
The service was disappointing. After being seated it took 15 minutes to be served glasses of water, and to take our order. It took another 15 minutes to come out with our appetizer. We finished the appetizer and still was not given our soft drinks. 15 minutes later when our server came around to collect our appetizer dishes, we had to ask for our soft drinks. 10 minutes later we finally received our soft drinks. 15 minutes later, I finally received my dish. Our server put my dish down, gave us two extra plates, and said you can share this, and your dish (my wife) will be done soon. What????Another 10 minutes passed and my wife finally received her meal. There were three other parties that came after who were getting their meals before us. So there were 4 parties total in the restaurant.
I am not a petty person, but when you pay the kind of prices we paid for our food, I expect the service to be a lot better than what we received.
Again, the food was amazing, and deserves due credit. The service definitely needs help.

This restaurant doesn’t look like much on the outside, but the interior is immaculate and very classily decorated…. honestly, you could come here for prom or an anniversary. We loved the eggplant appetizer…it was very well-balanced. We also very much enjoyed the kabobs and the dumplings. I also got the cucumber mint drink! Our waiter was so nice and attentive. We also liked the music which was not too loud but also helped give the vibe that we were eating foreign food. I heard about this place because an Afghani taxi driver told me it was his favorite restaurant. I concur. We will be back!

This was our first time trying Afghan food and it did not disappoint! We got the butternut squash bolani to start and it was amazing. The portions were big, plenty to share between two people. My husband ordered the tikka kabob and I ordered the mantu which were both delicious. We will definitely be back!

We were so excited to try this; we live right around the corner. It tasted like someone’s grandmas cooking, a real authentic experience!
I was greeted by three different people (and offered a free beverage) while waiting for my take-out; the place was immaculate and as someone who staged homes in the past, beautifully decorated. The food was pristine and I’m honestly sad I didn’t order double! Looking forward to coming back in-person on our next date!! We ate to food too quickly to take pictures

We had a wonderful experience at Taste of Persia Afghan Kitchen in Boise! The restaurant is spacious and elegantly decorated, with pleasant background music that created a welcoming atmosphere without being overwhelming.

Even though we arrived before our reservation time, we were seated right away. Service was excellent—our waiter was very kind and attentive.

Our food arrived quickly, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. We ordered lamb chops, tikka kabob, mantu, and bolani with veggies. The lamb was perfectly seasoned and chargrilled, full of flavor, and paired wonderfully with the aromatic spicy sauce. The basmati rice was cooked to perfection—light and fluffy. Fresh herbs like cilantro and mint added just the right touch of spiciness, making the dishes delicious without being overwhelming. The bolani (stuffed Afghan flatbread) was especially satisfying and very tasty.

For drinks, we tried the sheer chai (traditional Afghan milk tea), which was flavorful and aromatic.

Overall, the portions were generous, the prices very reasonable, and the dining experience outstanding. We truly enjoyed our dinner and will definitely be back.

Highly recommended!

Kabobs were great. We did a meal for 4 $110, and had more than enough for 5 people. Rice is fantastic. Slightly strange it comes with fries. Salad was good, with great dressing. The sauce was the bomb. It’s like a large banquet hall inside, seems like a lot of empty space which is weird if you’re the only ones there. Overall would do it again, the food was stellar.
