A fantastic way to celebrate our 19yr anniversary! The food was amazing (as always). Our waitress was friendly and prompt. The price was on point (actually a bit less than expected)! Definitely a place to go if your in the area!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for years! Finally got the chance to go. Ordered two pasta dishes, chicken dish and a Caesar salad. Out the four orders only one of the pasta dishes was phenomenal! We got the table bread once we were half ways through eating our dinner. Soon after they came and asked to start boxing our food which we were still eating. Once in the car everything leaked out the containers even though they wrapped them with plastic wrap, through the paper bag and onto my floor. The whole experience was not what I was hoping for

Had a good meal at Ventura’s. Super friendly service, with really nice waitress focused on making sure we had a great evening. Huge menu with lots of options all classic Italian fare. Decor has an old-school Sopranos vibe. Food was classic Italian, well prepared, but none of the items wow’d in terms of taste. Overall, give it a 4/5, I would recommend.

We wanted somewhere special to bring family from out of town and Ventura’s was perfect! Our meals and desserts were delicious, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere was elegant and welcoming. We had a wonderful evening and our family loved the experience. I would recommend Ventura’s again and again for a special evening or just for a great meal out. Consistently a great choice!

First time eating there. Portions were great. Server was phenomenal although she could have been more attentive with drinks. Escargot app was tasty, although mushrooms were canned..dish also needed salt. I had the porterhouse scampi special. Very large shrimp, seemed not frozen. Steak was cooked properly although lacked seasoning. Very bland. Also, it was not a porterhouse, it was a t-bone. Very little if any filet on the bone. Was kind of bummed since the dish was 64.00. My date got the fish soup, it looked impressive. Lots of seafood, but Hers too was bland. Lacked seasoning. Creme Brulee dessert was made in house and very tasty.

We came back recently and wanted to share our great experience and some new pics. This visit was filled with so many fine selections we thought it was worth doing another review. Ventura’s has stood the test of time, you will feel special once inside, as the tables are nicely covered and the atmosphere is old school elegant! Our server (Danielle) was very friendly, welcoming, helpful, and attentive. We had the clam chowder, and it was very tasty not too thick but rather pleasantly smooth! The warm bread and house salad are both very good. The special “Drunken Shrimp” App. Full of flavor, lots of roasted garlic, hot peppers, just the right amount of heat… We did the 16oz strip steak with Marsala mushroom sauce prepared medium rare, was a very nice combination, cooked more like medium, but didn’t stop us from enjoying it. The broiled scallops were delicious, but were a bit under cooked( made it better reheating what we took to go). We also were fortunate to get a taste of one stuffed calamari, it too was a real treat and a blast from the past. It was imo, a little under cooked, but the stuffing tasted great however the calamari needed to cook some more in the sauce and that’s exactly what we did with all the left overs. Oh, let’s not forget the broccoli and baked potato( see pic). All in all, we had way more than us two could ever eat in one sitting, but a real nice sampling was surely enjoyed and it was even better the second time around at home! See all the new photos and videos… Below is the first review too.
2 years ago: One less star is for our waitress, not attentive at all… slow to order, never asked how our meal was, didn’t refill waters and/ or soda, slow to get check, slow to p/u ck.
Enough about her… the place is fabulous, we had the homemade cannelloni – delish, filled nicely with meat, really good. The classic riggies was excellent too. We would definitely return and we highly recommend you try this place. It is very clean, fancy, dining room, and has many classic Italian dishes which all looked good!

A hidden gem (at least to me) that I hope to come back visit again.
We were on our way home from a VERY long road trip and starving. I had been dreaming about Italian food in Utica since we left Cleveland that morning. I didn’t realize that the place I was hoping for was closed between the “lunch” and “dinner” serving times. My husband came to the rescue and found this place with a quick Google search.
We were so hungry we ordered ridiculous amounts of delicious, amazing food. The bread – I had to force myself to stop eating it so I had room. Homemade dressing. The sauce on both the chicken marsala and the riggies. And the meatballs! I should have ordered more to go.
The place is beautiful inside. Very much a “throwback” in style, reminiscent of another time when restaurants were elegant and refined. And the staff were so pleasant and professional.
If you haven’t been here, go! It isn’t right off the highway or on the main drag, but head off the usual path and stop here. You won’t be sorry.

Traditional, beautiful, delicious, professional, and family oriented. The food was a revisiting of history and fabulous. You will not be disappointed. Maybe you will want to go every day. 🙂

Absolutely love this restaurant! Everyone is so nice and accommodating. I hope it never changes (except maybe change the channel on the TV at the bar). Hats and broccoli is such a great east Utica dish.

It was a thrill to eat at my parents’ favorite restaurant which in their day was in the 1960s and early 70s. Did it live up to the reputation? You bet it did! The service and attentiveness was top drawer and we felt very important. The food? Oh the food! One of the top meals we have had in our life. We both got New York strips of course I got mine medium rare and it was absolutely perfect. We also got the hot antipasti, long hots, and cannoli and hazelnut chocolate custard for dessert. Yes we were quite full when we left. What a wonderful evening. The atmosphere in the restaurant with subtle appropriate music playing and the lighting and the beautiful decor and marble floor. The wait staff really makes you feel important. Oh, but the food! We will never forget that dinner.
