Reviews
Honestly, this was one of the worst Jamaican/Caribbean food experiences I’ve ever had. First off, they lied and said they had oxtail, they didn’t. Then the curry goat didn’t even look or taste like curry goat. It was super dry, no sauce, and just plain disappointing.
The rice was mushy, clearly overcooked and probably sitting for hours. The spicy cabbage was cold and tasted awful. And the plantains? Completely off — not cooked right at all.
Everything about this meal was just nasty, awful, and disgusting. I don’t like to post bad reviews, but this was that bad. I’ll definitely never eat there again.
1.21.2026 Response to Owner
Thank you for your reply. I want to redirect this conversation back to the actual issue, which your response did not address.
The food was bad, unseasoned, dry, and poorly prepared. This is not a matter of cultural misunderstanding. I threw away $50 worth of food because it was inedible.
I am well traveled and have spent years eating and experiencing food across many cultures. I am also bi-cultural and come from a richly diverse cultural background myself. To suggest that I lack understanding of Caribbean geography or cuisine is inaccurate and dismissive, and that point holds no weight here.
When I referenced Jamaican/Caribbean, the forward slash ( / ),by definition, means “and/or,” not confusion. The issue was never whether the food was Guyanese or Trinidadian. The issue is that what was served lacked seasoning, moisture, and care.
Rather than evaluating and addressing the quality concern, your response focuses on deflection and victimhood. Attempting to diminish valid criticism—especially when this clearly is not the first time similar feedback has been raised, reflects a lack of awareness and accountability.
Regardless of cuisine, no customer should have to discard an entire order. I would not serve what I received to anyone.
I hope future feedback is met with reflection and improvement rather than defensiveness
I visited this restaurant Sunday July 15. I ordered the Curry Chicken Roti. I really wanted the oxtail I saw online but as I got to the location the young lady stated that was probably a special. I was sad. But I went ahead and just ordered the Curry Chicken Roti.
The roti as showed below was good and the curry chicken. Overall I will give the curry chicken a solid
3.5/5.
Will i return? Maybe.
Great customer service and the food is worth the prices!
The service was okay, nothing special. The good was pretty good. The prices are definitely different (higher) than the online prices and honestly I should have ordered online. The guy mentioned that the online prices aren’t updated…
Overall, the shrimp buss up shut was flavorful but wasn’t anywhere near as soupy as the influencers. The rice and peas were okay. I’ll most likely return in the future, when I have a taste for it again.
My cousin and I came to order takeout for content. We’re Jamaican, so we eat similar foods. She wanted to try this place after seeing it on TikTok, and we both love roti.
I originally asked about the boneless chicken to confirm it was chicken breast because I did not want curry chicken breast. I cook my own curry chicken at home if I’m eating curry chicken, it’s not going to be chicken breast. It doesn’t have as much flavor. That’s just my opinion.
Once they confirmed the boneless was breast meat, I chose the regular curry chicken bowl instead. The only reason I asked in the first place was because I got dhal puri with which ideally I’d love my meat wrapped in it. Since my curry chicken had bones, I went with the bowl. I chose chana and spinach as my sides. I repeated the order back to the young lady at the register and placed the same exact order for my cousin.
Both bowls were mostly gravy. We should’ve taken pictures for proof but I was hungry. There wasn’t much chana, and the spinach was mainly gravy too. When I opened my bowl, I saw boneless chicken and told the employee I didn’t order that. The two women working there were rude. She insisted that’s what I ordered. I didn’t notice it on the screen when I tapped to pay. I was tired and hungry, and this was my first meal of the day.
She said she couldn’t refund me for the upcharge or take the bowl back but would “see what she could do.” They came back with three pieces of curry chicken , one piece of chicken back and one of the other pieces mostly bone in a bowl unconvered. If my order was correct I would’ve gotten more pieces of curry chicken. Didn’t even have the decency to put it in a container knowing my original container was filled with gravy and barely close. I just spent $25 for takeout! They could’ve just gave me the correct order as a courtesy!! I just wanted to leave my entire order with them in disgust.
Nor did we enjoy the food except for the dhal puri which was fresh.
I won’t be returning. Spending $25 on takeout, I expect better service. We could’ve easily taken our $45 somewhere else and gotten more food and better customer service.
