Great experience met there with my wine society. We had a great time Chef Marcel came out and said hi. Korean steak was delicious the French onion was amazing. Desserts were really good as well lots more we want to try on menu. We will be back.

Really enjoyed the food and service at this hidden gem. The Brussel sprouts were the best my date had ever had. Both of dishes were delicious served on hot plates. I had the halibut and my date had the Mediterranean chicken. Everything was very fresh and prepared well. We also had the Thai butternut squash soup which was a special and was really good. Would love to come back here often as they have seasonal menus and specials.

Went to Marcel’s on their opening night, New Years Eve. The menu was a modified one from the regular menu featuring only appetizers. Some of which I believe will be on the regular menu as well. Everything we had was outstanding! We tried Dutch meatballs, delicious and moist with a red onion aioli. We had the poutine which although a familiar dish was far better than I expected. The gravy was rich and flavorful and the portion was large enough to share. We had the schnitzel sliders which were my favorite. Super crispy with a hint of curry, absolutely delicious! Lastly we had the chippies with a Boursin dipping sauce, again delicious. So much food we brought home left overs. Even though it was the first night of business that was not noticeable. We were served promptly and the food was piping hot. Service was amazing, our server was knowledgeable and attentive. Even though it is a smaller restaurant the layout still gave privacy and ample room. We will be back and often I hope. Give it a try, I am confident the full menu will be just as good if not better!

Went back to Marcel’s with a group of 5 recently and were able to order from the regular menu. Everything was excellent. Ordered the curried shrimp and the Dutch meatballs to share both were a big hit! Especially the sauce with the meatballs. Everything was gone in no time. Everyone ended up ordering a different entree which worked out nicely for tasting. We had the salmon, the grouper, the fillet, the chicken breast and a chicken Caesar salad. Everything was not only beautifully presented but very delicious. The chicken was juicy, the steak tender and perfectly cooked, the grouper was delicate and the sauce delicious. All the sides were outstanding as well. No one was disappointed! For dessert we got one of each; the panna cotta, the mousse and the lemon/lavendar cheesecake. All were good and perfectly sized but the cheesecake was the biggest hit. I highly recommend ending your meal with this. The service was amazing. No complaint at all. She was officiant and knowledgeable.

I chose Marcel’s for my birthday dinner and it DID NOT disappoint. The food was awesome. I chose the Korean steak with kimchi. It was amazing. My mom and bff got the butternut squash ravioli and they loved it. Great job Marcels. We will be coming back.

From our first visit to Marcel’s, it’s clear you’re stepping into something very special. Chef Marcel and his team deliver an experience that blends culinary artistry with heartfelt hospitality. His ever-changing menu keeps things exciting each time you go, and the flavors are always remarkable. We’ve enjoyed multiple dinners there—and this summer, we even had Marcel’s cater a big party for us. Months later, our guests are still talking about how incredible the food was.

What really sets Marcel’s apart is the way Chef Marcel himself greets and connects with every table. It’s rare to feel so personally welcomed and seen in a restaurant setting. The ambiance too—warm, inviting, beautifully styled—makes it a perfect place for a memorable evening.

Marcel’s did not disappoint. I had the blackened grouper which was seasoned perfectly and grilled to perfection! It was served with polenta and sriracha grilled broccoli. My husband had the black angus fillet topped with a walnut blue cheese crumble, mashed potatoes, and the grilled skewed shrimp added on. The steak was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. We also had the Jack’s croquet appetizer which was served with a wonderful horseradish sauce that complimented the flavors in the croquet and wasn’t overpowering. To finish off the delicious meal I had the Dutch apple pecan pie bar which was served warm and topped with an appropriate amount of vanilla ice cream and a bit of whipped cream.
The restaurant has limited seating, so make a reservation.
In closing, it was everything that I have grown to know and appreciate about Marcel’s expertise! Thank you Marcel for a truly wonderful dining experience!!

It has actually been several months since I last ate at this restaurant. The food and the service was perfect. The only awkward moment was when the chef asked my opinion. I’ll preface this by saying that I am an excellent home chef and can make anything on this menu blindfolded. Anyway, when he asked my opinion my only critique involved the salad. I merely suggested it should be chopped prior to serving. It’s a peccadillo of mine in that I don’t like dealing with hunks of lettuce. Fine dining is all about the details after all. Anyway, I got the impression that he didn’t appreciate my critique. Will I go back? Absolutely

Celebrating perfection!
We went last night to celebrate my friend’s birthday, and what an amazing surprise! Everything — absolutely everything — was perfect.
Not a single dish disappointed us. The flavors were clean, balanced, and full of freshness. We started with the appetizer of the day (a delicious beet creation ), then shared the Dutch-style beef — wow!
There were four of us, and we all ordered something different: Korean steak, Mediterranean chicken, cauliflower steak, and salmon. Each one was just as delicious as the other — impossible to pick a favorite!
Excellent work, Chef, and your team too — you were all wonderful!

Chef Marcel did a wonderful execution of a perfect meal! Our bill was $170 which included tip for my and my bride’s Norwegian Salmon dinners, drinks, French onion soup, ceasers salad and hot apple struttle with Charlie’s vanilla ice cream. A good value for a true gourmet meal!

I grew up around the corner and was back visiting the area from out of town. When some friends suggested we try this new restaurant, I was excited to experience fine dining in Sylvania and would recommend this place to everyone in the area or visiting! We made reservations and were welcomed into an adorable place. The bathrooms were well stocked with whatever you may need. At our table we were served delicious bread and butter. I love when restaurants do that because it immediately makes me feel catered to. Which was exactly how our service was the rest of the evening. We got the meatballs for an appetizer, which was like nothing I have ever experienced before – so good! I got the Mediterranean grilled chicken for my entree and it was fabulous although I also had eyes on the filet. The orzo pasta that came with the chicken along with the rest of the ingredients paired together wonderfully! My husband got the salmon and said it was so flavorful and delicious. We were so happy with our choices and would love to go back and try other dishes. Thanks for a wonderful evening, I hope many blessings come your way for opening up such an exquisite place.
