When I got to Chapala I was not sure what to expect. The place looks new and is very clean. Not the hole in the wall spots I am used to: There were some of my favorites like a seafood molcajete, Mojarra frita, and tacos de tripa. So we decided on those items except the Mojarra was a la diabla. As a spicy food lover with most places not at all touching my spice limits the Mojarra was the best I’ve ever had. The tacos de tripa were very good but with the red sauce on the side there a complexity of flavors I have never tasted for such a simple dish. The seafood molcajete was yet another homerun. The sauces here are one of a kind. They are rich, savory, and spicy. I will be coming back again… and again… and again. Also, this is at 810 Tennant Station not Tennant Ave. Right next to the theater in the Safeway parking lot. Directions on your phone may lead you behind a church.

No Bueno. Took forever to get more salsa. Or to be looked after. Foods off not authentic at all. Server never came back with our change so we left. I think they knew we were not going to tip much. I tip great when earned. I really dont know who is showing these folks how to wait on customers. Valentines Day dinner come on do better.

The best Camarones A La Diabla I have ever had. It isn’t the most spicy but it is spicy enough. The flavor is literally the best I have ever had. The drinks have also been great.
