This is a very cool pub in a historical hospital at the former braille school. Inside and out looks great and nicely decorated. Great fireplace and a few TVs by the bar. Service was good and attentive. The chicken sandwich was good. Must have been a bad day for brisket. The meat was over cooked. Parts of it was crunchy the rest was dry. The baked beans we’re ok. Tasted like bush beans with a little extra pork thrown in. I doubt I will go back. The coffee was very good.

This was worth the 45 minute drive from our home. Located on the grounds of the historic Iowa Braille School, this facility is impeccably refurbished with many of its original features intact. Food, service and atmosphere were excellent. The flatbreads were well prepared and reasonably priced. Sides of homemade coleslaw and southwest style corn were outstanding. Our server was efficient and courteous. The spacious outdoor seating is very comfortable with a quiet view of the historic property.

Nice quiet spot with a patio. Food was good, pretty short menu. They do have a large selection of beers on tap. Kinda pricey for domestics though, they all run $5 for 12 Oz cans..

Just Drove 45 mins just to be told that they don’t open til 4pm??? It’s 3:07pm. The sign says open on the front of the Building. There are no hours of business on the website or on the sign. The bartender told me that she was not aware of any hours on the website. Thank you for wasting my time!
Ok, second visit. Good ambience vibe. This time we came about 4pm. We seated ourselves. The waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered smoked wings and pulled pork flatbread. Waited a good while for our food to come out but when served, The food was good, fresh and hot. Drinks were very expensive. Overall, I would come back again.

I went to dinner with my aunt and uncle tonight and had the Philly brisket sandwich. The meat was really tender, very juicy (it wasn’t dry at all) the food wasn’t greasy and neither was the fries. I absolutely loved the food! It was so tasty I cleaned off the whole plate. It was so good I wanted another sandwich! I’m definitely coming back to order again! I highly recommend old hospital pub. The waitress was friendly and kind and very prompt and brought the food in a timely manner as well. Excellent food and excellent service! I loved the atmosphere too!

Have eaten here several times. Food is good though the menu is slightly limited. Good drink selections and service has always been excellent. Nice ambiance. Excited for nice weather and opening of the outdoor patio.

A great experience. They were busy but that didn’t make a difference in the service. Friendly and quite fast.. Beef brisque sandwiches, grilled chicken sandwich, sweet potato fries, potato salad, mac n cheese and baked beans for our table. First time there so we tasted everyone’s sides. Fun. Beat Pub. Vinton lucky to have it. Go and enjoy.

This place is amazing. The food is so good, Vinton has needed a place like this. The staff are friendly and the manager was top notch when we spoke with him. So glad they opened! We will be back!
Update: the Pub is still amazing and has only gotten better. Best food in Vinton easily.

We ate there last night and enjoyed our experience. The food was good. I believe that they are a steak entree and a seafood entree away from a fantastic dining experience.
