SO much wrong with this place!!!! -Be Advised-
#1- The Catfish/Shrimp plate has 1 small piece of fish and 4 shrimp that were medium size at best. HORRIBLE portions for the price.
#2- The “dark” Gumbo was so dark light could not escape its surface. It was like Gumbo concentrate. It burned my throat it was so strong. If you add two parts water, it would make it gumbo – BUT – it would not fix that there was hardly ANY seafood. I found one small shrimp. Not one crawfish. If there was crab, I couldn’t taste it. I should have just thrown my money in Bayou Teche.
#3- I asked for ketchup and got ONE TINY plastic ramekin HALF filled. The server was completely clueless that the entire table started laughing when we saw it. It was honestly comical.
#4- The fish and shrimp had NO flavor. The fish had to be eaten with a fork because it would fall apart when you touch it and all the batter would fall off. I can’t believe that place with the name and location is this bad. It gives Cajuns a bad name to visitors. Yes, it was that bad. Seriously. I really wanted it to be the new go to for out of state visitors, but kyawww it ain’t no good, dat.

Not a 5 pound serving of crawfish.
Expensive draft and dry crawfish (no juice or taste inside the crawfish) was pretty empty on a weekend night.

We were just passing through

Great server..great band.
Meh food and dry/bland crawfish for a 3.5 pound serving.

Waited way too long to try this place after moving to BB. Ribeye and hamburger steak were phenomenal.

Local gem well worth the stop!!!

Diner/dance hall style restaurant with hole in the wall charm. The servers were all very sweet and accomodating, quick to help and genuine. The place seems like it would be so lively on a saturday night and what a blast that would be!! A little dark inside but very clean.

The crawfish was seasoned to flavorful perfection and was spicy without overpowering. The grilled chicken tasted good and was nicely charred from the grill but was a little dry and small.

Restrooms are also exceedingly clean, I always love that in a restaurant- of they take care of this I know the kitchen is taken care of too.

Overall: such a wonderful place with good food and great staff/atmosphere. Do yourself a favor and make this stop!!

I’m so happy to see Randol’s back in business! This new incarnation of the Lafayette legend opened in January of this year (2024), three years after the original closed. It’s still owned by the same family, and we took the time to congratulate them on their new location. The food is still delicious, but we were saddened to see that the menu offered fewer choices than before. (We hope this is just a temporary situation as they adjust to their new location.) A couple of old favorite dishes that remained (for example, the crawfish half-and-half) also seemed to offer smaller portions than before, but we again hope this is part of the readjustment. My family has missed this place, and we celebrate its return and look forward to it hitting its full stride.

I tried the crawfish cakes and they were damn good, I recommend it to anyone who’s never been here. Love the music and the staff were all friendly and took good care of me.

We were disappointed to see our favorite restaurant went out of business. It was nice to see someone try to reopen under a new name. But the food was nothing like the original. The gator bites, fried crawfish and the Étouffée had no flavor at all. Quite disappointing. Maybe after they work all of the kinks out of this new venture it will be better. We will try them agin on the next trip through to see!

Spent 2 weeks in south Louisiana eating at various cajun restaurants and this was the worst found. Ordered hush puppies, and chopped steak. Neither had any flavor at all. Menu gave me the option of choosing sides but waitress said I couldn’t and made me take the sides they choose which were terrible. Don’t waste your money.
