I hope this place NEVER changes. No matter how many changes happen in the Shamokin area I always feel at home when I’m visiting here. The afternoon ladies are always a pleasure to catch up with. They are quick to get your order together and enjoyable to talk with if you’re dining in! I ordered 2 cheeseburgers with only sauce (and if you haven’t tried the sauce DO IT) & a cream soda, total was $13 and change. It was worth every penny!

This is a place where my grandparents used to bring me growing up. I have to make sure that I always stop here when visiting family in PA. I stopped here twice on this visit as it had been 15 years since the last time here. The taste of the burgers brought back so many fond memories. Well worth the visit. I can’t wait until next time.

From the giant Christmas tree in the dining area to the genuine kind hearted nature of the staff I interacted with, this was a special moment. The chili dog was everything I could have hoped for. Chili and raw onion topping. Middleswarth chips and a Big Ben birch beer. Perfection. This is an institution of chili dog perfection.

Great classic joint. Good service. Nice people. Excellent hot dogs. The almost-mandatory grilled onions make the whole thing unforgettable. Do not mistaken them for sauerkraut as they glisten in the front window of this classic storefront with the beautiful neon signage.

Every time I’m in the 20 miles radius, I would stop by Coney Island in Shamokin on Independence Street. It’s like traveling back to time, specifically the early 80’s & mesmerizing the original burgers & hotdogs recipe. I’m glad recipe remained the same. Unlike some places change their recipe with new owner management, the original taste is gone.
The only thing I was a little disappointed was seeing no gloves wore on both employees while preparing foods. Other than that, both burgers & dogs are flawlessly out of this world.

So we heard this place was a good spot to get some good food. Went with my family and some friends. Before entering there’s a sign at the door. Only take cash. We walk in and the place looks run down. Like it hasn’t been touched in decades. We sit down and what I think is the waitress come over and just stands there looking at us. I say is there any menus. She responds We don’t have any. I’m like ok….. so we order blindly as she nods on what they don’t have. Like no fries. We order 5 hot dogs, 1 cheese burger and 4 drinks. It was almost 45.00 dollars. The drinks were this off brand crap. And the diet Pepsi she gave me expired in December of 2024! I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Never going back.

What a treat! I ordered 1 Coney dog and a Coney Island burger. Perfection! Stwamed onions, coney Island chili , mustard on the burger. This establishment has been open since 1918..104 years. The owner was so much fun. He was very personable. Do yourself a favor and go here. Date of visit 8/12/22.

Times up. Theres dives and then there’s this place. Get with the times beyond those prices. It’s a tiny fast food burger not worth $5+. I don’t like places that are not clean. Raw hamburger on the counter unrefridgerated is just nasty. Literally half inch thick filth on the higher surfaces. I don’t see this place anywhere near how the locals see it. But then again most of the locals look just as dirty. Being clean is simple and if you can’t bother cleaning then most people won’t eat there.

2 plain hot dogs, 1 cheeseburger with coney sauce and 1 soda and 1 milk for $18.00. No bill or receipt when paying. The lady just said 18. I was shocked. Will not be going back there.
