I tried this place for the first time worth some friends. Everything was fantastic! Our waitress was so nice and attentive. All the staff were very friendly, greeting us upon arrival and when we left. I had the sandwich of the month for December which was the Vodka Chicken Parm and a side of broccoli salad. For dessert I had the peanut butter chocolate moose pie. The food was flavorful and well prepared. I liked the interior design of the restaurant – there is artwork throughout and lots of windows, so it’s nice and bright. I also asked if the outside patio is dog friendly and our waitress said that it is. So, I’ll definitely bring my dog sometime when the weather is nice. This is, by far, one of the best chicken places in town.

Traveling through San Marcos to Dallas and decided to give this place a try, and it did not disappoint! We had the 1/2 Mixed, hot, with fries and greens. The spice was just right for me and my wife (it was enough for us to share). However, would have probably tried the mo hot if we weren’t sharing. The service was great as well…our server “MJ” had a great disposition and took care of us well. The chicken is also 100% hormone and antibiotic free and raised here in Texas…which is another plus!

My boyfriend took me out to eat here for my early Valentine’s dinner. ( Feb.11, 2026 ) Everything we ate to my alcoholic drink to my pecan pie was so so delicious There was not one bad thing about this place. You can’t go wrong. If you want to take your special love one for a romantic dinner. Go by Tumble 22 and give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.

We tried tumble 22 in San Marcos tonight. This place has a lot of potential. The dining room is amazing. Our waitress was great and very attentive. The food has great flavor.
We ordered two OG sandwiches (one ordered plain and one without pickles) and a Korean bbq sandwich. My son got a shake. We also got a couple drinks from the bar.
Everything came quick. The food when served as ordered was amazing.
So why only two stars? This review would be five if we didn’t have a couple issues. First my wife’s lemonade had lip stick on the glass. Then my wife’s sandwich was supposed to have everything but pickles but it came plain with just a bun and a chicken patty. They corrected both with no issues but when they fixed her sandwich her fries were cold.
We didn’t expect anything free but we were surprised that management didn’t come and at least apologize. The restaurant wasn’t that busy at the time so it would have showed they cared about so many mistakes. One mistake is ok but everything my wife ordered wasn’t right. The waitress was amazing so we don’t think she did anything wrong. The computer showed she entered our order correctly.
We’ll try it again but hopefully it will be better next time.

They do so many things right! Andy was an amazing server and an even better human. All around great vibes from her. The food was hot, delicious and priced extremely well. The Pecan Milkshake is worth the potential diabetes. Keep up the great job guys can’t wait to come back

The chicken sandwich was perfectly crispy with just the right level of heat. The dark meat 1/4 was juicy and flavorful, and the white meat was tender.
The deviled eggs and dirty fries, and honestly, they could be meals on their own. The deviled eggs had just enough kick to keep things interesting, and the fries were next-level with all the toppings.
The mac and cheese was ultra creamy and rich. Southern comfort food at its finest. And the margarita? Strong, fresh, and balanced.
The staff was super friendly, the service was fast, and the vibe is fun and relaxed. Can’t wait to comeback!

Walking into Tumble 22 was like walking into your favorite place–fun design, personable staff and kick ass chicken! We had the chicken bites & the Lil OG with Mac & Cheese as well as their special the Rangoon Royale. As always–Excellent! Really wanted to try the pecan & chocolate cream pie, but we were stuffed after our entree! Jack did an outstanding job making us feel welcome, explaining the menu as it was our 1st time, and the food was cooked perfectly. This may just become my go to chicken joint in San Marcos!

Sitting across from HEB, Tumble 22 is a hot chicken restaurant known for their “Texas-raised chicken that’s hand-breaded and tumbled precisely twenty two times for the perfect crunch.” A fun, casual spot with hot chicken, cold beer, a full bar, fries and indulgent ice cream shakes. Their hot chicken spice level ranging from painless to “stupid hot” on a 6 level heat scale is embedded in the breading as a dry rub to bring some heat to your meal. Two of us ordered hot chicken sandwiches and shared a large side of fries and a peanut butter cookie dough shake. Both sandwiches were loaded with flavor and wonderful texture from the fresh coleslaw and bread and butter pickles. Seats are available at booths, the bar, or outside, covered tables. A great place to catch up or catch a game on the big screen. Welcome to San Marcos!
