I make a pretty solid latte at the house, so my bar is pretty high when I try a new place. I tried the Brown Sugar Sunshine with oat milk, it’s a brown sugar, cinnamon, orange latte (to the best of my recollection), and it was fantastic. 10/10, would recommend.
I also tried the siracha Olive biscuit, which I was hesitant about because I hate olive, and I was once again very pleasantly surprised. I had the biscuit served toasted with butter and it was delicious. They were correct that the olive adds depth of flavor, but is very subtle.
All in all, I can’t recommend this place enough. Service was knowledgeable, friendly, and answered any questions I had. Atmosphere was nice and cozy. Good artwork and local products for sale.Don’t hesitate to give this local business a chance.
Our drinks came out first. My partner got a brown sugar mocha and really liked it; I don’t usually drink coffee but I had a sip and liked it, too. I got a chai latte, which was fine; not the worst I’ve had, but certainly not the best or something I’d get again.
And then we waited for our food. And waited. There is no dedicated chef or kitchen here, so the employee who was taking people’s orders at the register was also the one making our meals. It took a long time since she kept getting interrupted to help other customers.
We finally got our food and went home. My partner opened their toast box first, and made a comment along the lines of “no way is this over $10.” Dear reader, before us sat the tiniest piece of toast—think palm-sized—known to humans. I opened my box and saw a similarly tiny toast, which also costed over $10. Boggles my mind that they’re selling $4-sized toast for over $10.
As for taste, flavor, texture, etc: the sourdough was mushy inside and reminded me of my early, failed baking experiments. I had two bites and some of the crust, and that was it. The avocado was unseasoned, and the eggs were fine. I ended up adding more salt to everything. My partner experienced the same bread texture issues and lack of seasoning. The scones were overly sweet in an odd and unapetizing way, and that’s coming from a sweet tooth.
Wasted morning waiting on food that was not worth the money.
Their drinks are unique and delicious.
I had their Brown Sugar Sunshine Latte and their Golden Turmeric Latte.
I had their Avocado toast on GLUTEN FREE Sourdough… delicious and makes me so happy because it can be challenging to find GF options.
Today, I had the Egg Man on GF Sourdough.
Everything is fresh and tasty!
Other things worth mentioning are the beautiful, friendly faces that work here. Kim, River, Dawn and her husband, Gary!
I had lovely conversations about how I’ll soon be relocating to Muncie from the eastern shore. They made many recommendations and gave me such a lovely, warm welcome and remembered me by name the next day.
The atmosphere is perfect, I love the vibe and the warm energy in the room. It is vibrant and eclectic, just my style! Can’t wait to move to Muncie and continue enjoying this place.
The Mexican Mocha was delicious, and the artwork and staff were lovely. I’ll definitely be back!!
