Upon recommendation, I stopped in Haul’n Oats on a Saturday afternoon. Its a fun little place with about 5 tables and a cozy corner. An eclectic vibe. I ordered the Iced Chai Latte which was a bit pricey but possibly the best Iced Chai in Muncie. The atmosphere was great. I sat for awhile and the place stayed busy with clear regulars. Next door is The Cafe at the Crossing where the people seem nice. I will try their food next. Definitely try Haul’n Oats.

I had some extra time this morning and decided I should spend it trying a local coffee shop, and I couldn’t be happier with that decision.

I make a pretty solid latte at the house, so my bar is pretty high when I try a new place. I tried the Brown Sugar Sunshine with oat milk, it’s a brown sugar, cinnamon, orange latte (to the best of my recollection), and it was fantastic. 10/10, would recommend.

I also tried the siracha Olive biscuit, which I was hesitant about because I hate olive, and I was once again very pleasantly surprised. I had the biscuit served toasted with butter and it was delicious. They were correct that the olive adds depth of flavor, but is very subtle.

All in all, I can’t recommend this place enough. Service was knowledgeable, friendly, and answered any questions I had. Atmosphere was nice and cozy. Good artwork and local products for sale.Don’t hesitate to give this local business a chance.

This place is beautiful! It had a wonderful white chocolate mocha! I had tried a different drink, I believe it was called Fiona. That drink was way different than what I had expected so I hesitantly took my drink back and asked for a new one. River didn’t mind at all to make me a new one! I felt like I made new friends just from my very first visit! Please try them out if you like Starbucks white mocha you’ll love it here!

Absolutely not returning here. My partner and I visited for brunch recently, each getting a specialty toast, scone, and beverage. We decided to do carryout since the space is small and it was a bit crowded. We ordered and sat down to wait, chatting and enjoying the decor and environment.

Our drinks came out first. My partner got a brown sugar mocha and really liked it; I don’t usually drink coffee but I had a sip and liked it, too. I got a chai latte, which was fine; not the worst I’ve had, but certainly not the best or something I’d get again.

And then we waited for our food. And waited. There is no dedicated chef or kitchen here, so the employee who was taking people’s orders at the register was also the one making our meals. It took a long time since she kept getting interrupted to help other customers.

We finally got our food and went home. My partner opened their toast box first, and made a comment along the lines of “no way is this over $10.” Dear reader, before us sat the tiniest piece of toast—think palm-sized—known to humans. I opened my box and saw a similarly tiny toast, which also costed over $10. Boggles my mind that they’re selling $4-sized toast for over $10.

As for taste, flavor, texture, etc: the sourdough was mushy inside and reminded me of my early, failed baking experiments. I had two bites and some of the crust, and that was it. The avocado was unseasoned, and the eggs were fine. I ended up adding more salt to everything. My partner experienced the same bread texture issues and lack of seasoning. The scones were overly sweet in an odd and unapetizing way, and that’s coming from a sweet tooth.

Wasted morning waiting on food that was not worth the money.

My wife and I had the opportunity to stop in for the first time the other. A beautiful place with great coffee and other drinks and food. My wife had a medium roast coffee and I had a banana protein milkshake with coconut whipped cream that was delicious. Decor is so comfortable and neat. Employees are great and helpful in making coffee choices. They have green chili grits on Saturday morning I’m going to try. Try this place out and you’ll be surprised how nice it is.

Super crowded but comfy atmosphere. The main complaint I have is the portion size. Two of the “ode to peanut butter” cost is almost $20 dollars! It is the most thin sliced bread I have ever seen as well as the smallest. At this price I would expect 2 in each box but at almost 20 I feel like I was given a sandwich cut in half for 2 people.

I love everything about this cozy coffee shop!
Their drinks are unique and delicious.
I had their Brown Sugar Sunshine Latte and their Golden Turmeric Latte.
I had their Avocado toast on GLUTEN FREE Sourdough… delicious and makes me so happy because it can be challenging to find GF options.
Today, I had the Egg Man on GF Sourdough.
Everything is fresh and tasty!
Other things worth mentioning are the beautiful, friendly faces that work here. Kim, River, Dawn and her husband, Gary!
I had lovely conversations about how I’ll soon be relocating to Muncie from the eastern shore. They made many recommendations and gave me such a lovely, warm welcome and remembered me by name the next day.
The atmosphere is perfect, I love the vibe and the warm energy in the room. It is vibrant and eclectic, just my style! Can’t wait to move to Muncie and continue enjoying this place.

We stopped today as part of the 2024 Coffee Tour for the first time, and it definitely made the list as a new favorite coffee spot.

The Mexican Mocha was delicious, and the artwork and staff were lovely. I’ll definitely be back!!
