Had not been there since the new remodel and was pleased with how that turned out with its sports bar atmosphere. Even had a real wood fire in the big stone fireplace safely tucked behind an insert but you still better watch your children. Hot hot. Good happy crowd there for Thursday Night Football but still had the back restaurant seating for quiet family time. Only had one server but he eventually got to me and everything was very quick afterwards. Order the chicken Philly sandwich with fries. It was nice and gooey but the chicken was shredded and would have preferred chunked or sliced. Was good to have skin on homemade fries but they were a bit soggy. I usually order my fries well done but forgot. Prices were decent and very good selection of beers both tap and can

Neat place with an awesome view. Nice bar and restaurant area. Parking for snowmobiles. They must have been hit hard with new snow and slender as they were unfortunately out of quite a few items. I was worried about the fries when they came out thinking they were over done. I was wrong they were actually really good. Would 100% be back. Service to get drinks was a little slow but not horrible.

Sat outside and appreciated the timely service. We ordered right before the kitchen opened for the day and our food came out very fast. Everything was good, typical bar food and view was nice.

We had a 50th birthday brunch catered by Dave and his crew. Everything was fabulous with an incredible brunch, mimosas and atmosphere . Kenzie and Sarah were both top notch with a special shout out to Michelle for making it all come together.

This place is awesome, one of our new favorites! The service was great, the food fantastic and the place itself has a great vibe, relaxing, and family friendly. The prices are affordable and the portions generous. Absolutely recommend!

Best Tavern on Lake Vermillion. Great service, friendly bartenders & servers.
Bartenders are fantastic & so are the servers. Lizzy, Michelle, Sarah, MJ, & Joe are the best.
The owners treat his employees very well. Everyone is happy to be there & serve you.
The chicken bacon wrap is my favorite meal there. The cooks take special care of you when your there.
They have boat launch, docks, access to the lake. RV park next store.
Very comforting to be there. The fireplace is always lite. Theres games, food, & gamblng there. You have snowmobile trails in the winter. Gas pump for your boat, car, or sleds. The sunsets over the lake are amazing. They have great northern lighta too. Always visit the tavern few times a year.

Food wasn’t that good. Chips soggy because lettuce was piled on them. Found two over ripe cherry tomatoes under the hamburger bun. How they got there is a mystery. The salmon salad was tasteless and very overdone. Very dry. The vinegrette was basically French dressing. A few cherry tomatoes and very few little chunks of cucumber. Poor excuse for a salad. The server was great, but should’ve offered something to excuse the salad.

If you go here, prepare to wait. Bring a board game! Both times we’ve gone for dinner it’s been a 2 hour + wait. The extra star is for our lovely server Liz who was busting her ass all night to help us and the 40 other tables in her section. This place is chronically understaffed. The wait staff are sweet, they just seem so stressed. It’s unfair that management won’t hire more people for the summer. I imagine it’s difficult to hire seasonally, but there has to be a way. As we were waiting for our food we saw three different tables get up and walk out because it took over 30 minutes to put in drink orders. The food is bad, but since you’ve been waiting 2+ hours, it somehow tastes delicious.. you are hard pressed to find a vegetable here, which is sadly the case in the North Woods in general. Our family misses Bayview and the amazing food and service that we received there. Also shouldn’t it be called Tavern ON the bay? Not in..

My wife and I have eaten at the Bay on a number of occasions and have found the food to be average at best. However, the location on the lake provides a nice setting for a dinner experience so we’ve gone back several times thinking that things would improve. Sadly to say they keep getting worse. Our last visit was with special friends visiting us from out east. Sadly to say the experience was almost embarrassing. Three of us ordered wraps with chips and I ordered the California burger. Everything was overcooked and soggy. I could have pounded nails with my hamburger, that is how well done it was. To make matters worse they charged me $1 extra for the thin slice of extra onion on my burger and $3 for the salad that was suppose to be substituted for the fries on one of the meals. They even charged a $1 for the dressing for the salad. To make matters worse, the noise level from the bar made it next to impossible to have a decent conversation during our meal. From now on I will be going down the road to the Vermilion Club. Maybe the noise level is about the same but at least you get a good meal for the money you spend.

I really wanted to give a higher review of this place. The lake view is gorgeous! I am a fan of the decor inside and love the garage doors being open to the amazing patio in the summer. But twice now, we have gone just for cocktails, and while we were greeted rather quickly for that first drink, we had to go into the bar and find our server. The first time this happened, we left after the 1 cocktail.
During our second visit, after searching for our server, my cousin asked for another round and told her it was just 2 beers and a vodka stoli. She then said she had to get a note pad to remember and took at least another 5+ minutes to come out with our drinks. While that isn’t a long time to wait when they are busy,I can say they were not busy by any means for that long of a wait time.
Did not try the food, so I can not rate it. While I am sure the patio will bring us back during the summer, I would like to one day say it is for the service, I am hopeful that will improve in the future and I can change my review.
