Excellent food and the cheeseburger that I had was outstanding! If you’re looking for Southern food at a reasonable price I would come here anytime. Sweet tea was good. It’s exactly how it looks in the pictures.

I had never even heard of this restaurant before this morning. It has been here for years! Let me just say, wow! The service, the atmosphere and the food were absolutely perfect! The most perfectly grilled English muffin and the largest omelet I’ve seen in a long time! If you leave here hungry, you did something wrong.

Love this place especially when it rains. You see I work in the construction field and when it rains I have the day off and get to have a sit down breakfast. The waitresses here always have a smile on their face, are very friendly and the service is normally quick. The food prices are from my opinion are very reasonable and the quality of the food is off the chain. Eat here once and you’ll be back.

As you pass the Skinny Cook, it looks like a hole in a wall restaurant, but it’s much more. It’s where you eat home cooked meals with family or friends. It’s a well-known place by all locals in Monroe. It stays busy for breakfast and lunch. The prices are very reasonable, you can’t beat it. I had lunch there and ordered the loaded tots and chicken wings. The wings were spicy but not super hot, just right. The loaded tots came with tons of melted cheese and bacon bits. Absolutely delicious .

Food is cheap for a reason… it’s mediocre at best. I would rather eat what I make at home. Much better & more professional places in town I’d rather go to / recommend to others

Went to sit down and the leather on the booth was broken, not very comfortable to sit on. Then my son was given spoiled milk, hopefully he doesn’t get sick.

Took my kids to the restroom and it was like going to a gas station bathroom, hasn’t been cleaned in probably years. Oh, and no TP.

When I came out of the bathroom I realized how filthy the restaurant is as well. Service was great but I don’t understand how this place is still in business.

Food was great, customer service was excellent and they kept our coffee topped off. The grits did not need any salt/pepper they were perfect. It was too much food to eat so we ended up with a to go box. Definitely worth it and we will be back ❤️

I had country ham grips and sliced tomatoes. I also had the red eye gravy. Everything was delicious. I thank you all so much.

Great place to grab breakfast.
It’s great to know places like this are still around that have the ’90s diner vibe.
