So my wife (Victoria) and I ended up here, and it was by happenstance because she was interviewing for a job at another place. Let’s see a place that uses a name that has to do with hair color and they said, oh we think it’s a conflict of interes that you work at “That Breakfast Place” and want a waitress job here…lol. And she doesn’t work there TBP (obviously hiring manager didn’t listen), so we said, we’ve got to try this place. So thank you very much other place….It is, by far probably one of the best breakfast places we’ve been to ever.

We’ve been there twice for breakfast both times let me tell you the staff is amazing. The time to get your food is spectacular also the food is phenomenal.

We’ve, my wife and I became friends with Jules, that works there as one of the waitresses. From first time we met her, we knew it’s gonna be a fun place and its actually a very fun place. But again, the food is phenomenal we can’t wait to go back! Definitely add to your places for breakfast.

Very clean and spacious place. Lots of seating available. Huge parking lot

My server Jules was super friendly and attentive, service was great, food came out quick.

They have so many unique choices for breakfast, I tried the baked potato omelette and it was super good! Next time I want to try the meat lovers pizza omelette. Coffee was good as well, filled up frequently.

Definitely worth a stop for breakfast, will be back

Nice breakfast spot that was not far from the hotel we were staying at. We got lucky and ran into Meen and his groomsmen. The food was really good. I highly recommend the corned hash. It has nice chunks of real corned beef and potatoes. The waitress we had was very friendly. The price was good. We didn’t have a wait and came pretty quickly.

First time here. Me and my son went and it was the best decision we made. The waitress was so nice the food , omg the food was amazing. 10 stars on presentation, taste , amount you get. The cooks really take their time to make your plate look amazing. You can tell they take pride in what they send out. I was so impressed with the place and food I was telling everyone they have to go there. I already have a list of what I want to try next. Highly recommend!

That Breakfast Place in Willimantic, CT specializes in cooking up a massively hearty breakfast platter consisting of a monstrous 16 inch pancake topped with a pound of home fries, the four horsemen of breakfast meats (bacon, sausage, ham, and kielbasa), 2 orders of toast, and naturally an entire DOZEN of eggs. To earn a spot on their coveted wall of fame, a free t-shirt and free meal, one must complete this mini mountain of food in under 30 mins. Failure to finish within the time constraint costs $70 and a devastating blow to your pride.

For almost 10 years, I have jealously watched YouTuber after YouTuber complete this challenge and silently yearned to one day complete it myself and join their skilled and victorious ranks.

Well last week, my time finally arrived when I took the trip out to Willimantic with my sister and my dad! It felt surreal entering the establishment and standing in the location where each competitive eater recorded their YouTube videos.

Excitement bubbled across my skin as I placed my order for the breakfast challenge. I had my choice of toast as well as egg style. I opted for the visually aesthetic sunny side up egg as well as their sweetly spiraled cinnamon raisin bread which I even requested them slather with peanut butter to appease my inner pb loving child.

When my gargantuan feast arrived, I made sure to snap a few pics quickly so I could dig into my food while it was still delectably hot! Armed with a brand new bottle of sugar free maple syrup and a big trusty spoon, I dove in full force and cleared the entire plate in 11:45 absolutely shattering my personal expectations and placing myself as the second fasted time in the restaurant’s history!

As I waited for my dad to finish his meal, I treated myself to some celebratory dessert in the form of their rotating housemate breads which happened to be Pumpkin Strudel. Its warm spices hit the spot on such a cool and windy Connecticut morning.

The hugest and warmest of thank yous to That Breakfast Place for bringing my decade’s long breakfast challenge dreams to life. It exceeded my minds wildest and loftiest expectations satiating me at a deep soul level.

Despite tragically losing a critically beloved member of their staff and family just last week, the team at That Breakfast Place still supported me 100% with cheerful and diligent camaraderie. Their strong resolve in the face of horrendous loss moved me beyond words. Thank you, That Breakfast Place .

Breakfast Place isn’t the same restaurant I grew up with. It’s quite a disappointment these days and it’s a shell of what it once was. I’ve stopped coming to the restaurant completely. The food has gone way down in quality. The food lacks flavor, can taste dry, etc. What I don’t like is how expensive and overpriced the food has gotten. A food item like a waffle isn’t worth $7+ especially with the bad quality of the food this restaurant makes. Breakfast Place has made up several poor excuses about the prices increases but it’s clear they’re price gouging and purposely ripping off their customers. The paint makeover of the restaurant took away their fun identify and it’s hideous. The restaurant is now soulless looking which matches their prices and food quality. I miss the days of getting good quality food here for less than $8.

The last time I came here, was with my relative cuz we were close friends with the employee who passed away back in March and wanted to share our condolences. We paid nearly $50 (not including tip) for the most basic breakfast items and it was still subpar quality. The service was also horrible, We were ignored and forgotten about most of the time.

I hope this restaurant will change and improve itself. I am doubtful I’ll return anytime soon.

This by far exceeded our expectations, the Peanut Butter Strawberry Banana Waffle was out of this world, they have a large “specials” menu that is posted weekly. Who thinks up these concoctions that taste so fantastic! We got a smashed potato which was amazing, and a Hashbrown Benedict that will knock your socks off. Super friendly staff that is very knowledgeable and helpful. The building even has a super cool mural of Willimantic back in the day, very nostalgic.
Prices are definitely higher than most breakfast places that we’ve been to including the drinks but well worth it for the food. We will be back!

Off the charts!!!

If there’s a meal that I love to have at a great establishment, it’s breakfast. I consider myself a breakfast aficionado.

It’s probably been a year or more since I’ve had pancakes. Most places they’re awful. Not here! The Apple Cider Pancakes were on the ‘specials’ board, so I figured, +go for it+. Lemme say that my eyeballs popped out when this monster plate arrived at the table. And… the most important part, these were awesome!

My wife ordered that Zucchini Spice Cake French Toast, with blueberry compote. Wowza!

Edith, our server was friendly and amazingly attentive and manages lots of full tables with ease.

Seriously, you gotta be crazy hungry or split a meal with your breakfast partner.

I give ‘That Breakfast Place’ SIX stars.

We arrived on a Sunday morning, and there was a wait. But there was no wait to sit at the bar, so we did that. Definitely check out the bar seating if you don’t want to wait. The grilled home made banana bread was incredible, also suggest the multi grain toast. Waitress was super helpful and friendly.

Visiting the area and came to check it out. Huge menu of breakfast and lunch choices. I had a pincanti Benedict (special). It was spicy but really a great combo of savory and spicy. Really good-really good. My daughter got the bread special, apple cider. Also really good. She got the fruit and yogurt bowl. It was excellent. Coffee was ok. Hot tea was very good. Highly recommend this breakfast place.
