However, once we sat down and ate something, that frustration was soon forgotten. This has to be the best place in Midland. We were greeted and seated almost right away. Our waiter also a sommelier recommended the perfect wine that was paired with our meal. My wife ordered the Oxtail stew and I had the beef brisket. They paired the stew with a pasta noodle, it was a bit heavy, might be better with a jasmine or basmati rice. However, it was still really good. My brisket was plate licking delicious. You could cut the brisket with a fork, it was so tender, succulent. The mashed potatoes were also next level. I ate every little morsel with no regret.
I love this place and is now our go to for midland area. I am sure it will be yours as well, just go there once and you’ll see for yourself.
We ordered drinks and had to specifically ask for water. Our appetizers were delicious, but the main courses were disappointing—the angel hair pasta was overcooked, dry, and lacked adequate sauce. Desserts were great, but our server was not friendly or personable throughout the evening, and the billing was incorrect and needed to be redone twice.
For a $500 meal, the overall experience felt far below expectations. It genuinely felt like our presence was an inconvenience. As a small note, when someone orders a mocktail, it would be a nice touch to present it in a proper glass with a garnish—especially when the rest of the table has wine glasses.
Overall, the food had some highlights, but the service and handling of our reservation left us very disappointed.
We started with a simple brushetta, which was delectable. The bread was thick and the tomatoes juicy.
Main course consisted of a hearty shrimp Limonada and a chicken carbonara, heavier on the mushrooms. The freshness, taste profile between the two dishes and portion size were all excellent.
Dessert was a strawberry shortcake- simple with a few actual strawberries on the side and some chocolate drizzle. Texture was great.
All In all the experience was 10/10; and the price on par with chain restaurants leaving us completely satisfied. We tipped generously, that being said we will be back to reaffirm this notion.
An hour went by, and our food was still nowhere in sight. The server didn’t event talk with us. Eventually, we had no choice but to leave.
It’s hard to ignore the feeling that our treatment wasn’t just bad service…
Then on the way out, we had a chance to speak with the owner – very friendly, approachable and appreciated what we had to say about his staff and food!
Thank you for the amazing experience to celebrate my mom! We will DEFINITELY be back!
