When visiting our restaurants, what you’ll see and taste is all a part of the carefully crafted Momiji experience. Our blend of traditional yet outside of the box Japanese cuisine easily satisfies the void we call hunger. Momiji began in 2010 as a 5 table and bar top in NE Salem. Since then, our popularity and dedication to crafting pure, delicious sushi has led us to proudly operate 9 locations in the heart of Oregon. Our passion is to create fresh, tasty sushi every day, for an experience for you, your friends, and your family!

Ordered a to go order and then got home to find they didn’t put any of the toppings on a rocky salmon roll that we specifically get for the toppings. Then almost no toppings on the Oregon salmon roll. Then about 2/3rds the toppings on the spicy salmon roll and 3/4 of the toppings on the valentine roll. Disappointing, no reason to tip for a to go order and especially if they can’t even get it right.

This Momiji location is hands down our favorite of all of them. Living in Monmouth now makes it an easy, walkable win, but even when we lived in Salem I’d happily make the drive just for the atmosphere.
The sushi is consistently great, but what really sets this spot apart is the staff. They’re always friendly, welcoming, and especially kind to our 4-year-old, who loves sushi but hasn’t quite mastered chopsticks yet. That kind of patience goes a long way.
I’ve never had a bad experience here. And while some reviews mention menu or promo changes, don’t let that deter you—this is still a fantastic place to eat. Sushi, sashimi, bento… it’s all solid.
One small wish: an all-shrimp tempura option instead of just veggie or variety. I’d absolutely pay extra for it.
Highly recommend.

WESTERN STUDENTS! AVOID! They took away the 5-8 PM happy hour that was happening until recently with absolutely NO notice to their rewards customers. The last time I was there the salmon made me sick. This place is a total scam and absolutely disgusting. I am sad that we signed up for the rewards program. We will NEVER return.

I come here all the time and the service has recently gone down. The newest person who served me always has headphones in which was generally odd. Then he served me cold soup and when I asked for a new one he said “that’s what happens when they don’t plug in the miso soup pot”. It was awkward that he was clearly annoyed with his coworkers. When he gave me a new one that was clearly steaming he said “if this isn’t hot enough for you I’ll microwave it” which felt a little aggressive and also I don’t want to know you’re microwaving your food at a restaurant I’m paying for. The food portions have also gone down while the prices stay the same which is frustrating. There used to be a ton of sesame balls and now there’s only 6, and they’re burnt.
I used to love coming here alone but I’ve just felt uncomfortable because of the service and portion changes. Hannah is a server I’ve seen for over a year and they’ve always been great. I do love that they’re like the only place in this dumb town that’s open on Sundays.

The service is great, and the food was fresh. Unfortunately the fare is expensive and stingy. In a small semi rural town like Monmouth, we expected prices that reflected the local economy, but it’s priced like the upscale Portland Pearl District. When you add the skimpy potions, it’s disappointing. I eat a lot of sushi; the amount of fish in all eight pieces in each roll at Momiji could easily be supplied by the fish found in a single piece from any number of other sushi restaurants. There were probably more crumbs left on the knife that cut the near invisible salmon than was in the role. Basically it was rolled rice.

One of the only All You Cam Eat (AYCE) sushi spots in the area and it was delicious! We had a little bit of everything from Bento Box’s, to individual rolls, salad, Miso Soup, Ngiri, and of course AYCE! The AYCE has adjusted prices for kids which is really awesome too! They do have pretty strict rules on how much you can order at one time. These restrictions are to help you not waste, because they make it clear you’ll be charged for leaving food on your plate. The sushi was made fresh but it does take time, especially if they are busy, so be patient. Our server was also very friendly and attentive!

Friendly and attentive service from the ladies. Enjoyed the Rocky Salmon Roll most and their lunch special is a great deal (between 11am and 4pm). Location is a fair size, boxes make it feel a bit crowded. Hopefully, just there temporarily.

Yesterday I received a two-order offer from DoorDash, both orders to be picked up from Momiji. I accepted, and then delivered both orders correctly based on the names that Momiji listed on the receipts, but am now being severely punished by DoorDash, because Momiji management put the wrong orders in the wrong bags. I did every preventive thing that I legally could have to double check that the correct items were in the bag, including verbally asking who appeared to be the manager, who falsely assured me that they were. Now I am paying the price for my naive trust in him. I would urge you not to accept deliveries from Momiji, as they do not take any responsibly for their mistakes that affect others.
(In addition to my own double checking, the last customer I delivered to verbally confirmed that it was indeed their correct name on the bag. You will also find through your security footage that I asked the manager several times before leaving the restaurant if the heavy drink was indeed in the particular bag that it said it was. What exactly was I supposed to do differently?)

The food here is fantastic! The rice is more of a regular sticky white rice than sushi rice, but it’s really nice because the rice doesn’t take away from massive amount of flavor in the other ingredients. They give a generous amount of wasabi and ginger too. 10/10 would eat again!

Barely edible, ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box because of the reviews. The chicken tasted bland, almost not cooked through. The katsu chicken was ok. The best part of my order was the white rice, salad, and edamame side I ordered.
