Love Mexican food and was not disappointed. Was delicious!!! It was very cold inside. Ate with my coat on. Not sure if they were short staffed, but there was only one person to greet you, seat you, take your order and was also tending bar. Friendly though. Once food was ordered, it came out quick and hot and, delicious! Was not offered refills on our drinks and oddly, never checked in to see if everything was okay. Like mentioned, maybe short staffed. We will certainly be back to try out this wonderful menu! Soooo good!

Zanca – Minden, Ontario
If you blink while driving through Minden, you might miss it. That would be a catastrophic life decision.
We went to Zanca for tacos… and left questioning every other taco we’ve ever eaten.
First off — the tacos? Unreal. Fresh, loaded properly (not that sad “where’s the meat?” situation), crisp shells, bright pico, and just the right hit of sauce. Every bite actually tasted intentional. Nothing sloppy, nothing phoned in. Just straight-up flavour.
And then it got better.
The chef came out to our table. Not in a “quick hello” kind of way — he actually talked to us about the dishes, how he prepares them, what goes into the flavours, and why he does things the way he does. You can tell immediately this isn’t just food — it’s craft. The kind of pride you don’t fake.
We mentioned chilaquiles… and he made them for us off the menu. Who does that anymore? Crispy chips soaked just right (not mushy, not dry), layered with sauce, protein, crema — the whole thing was balanced and ridiculously comforting. It felt like someone’s abuela decided you were family for the day.
The staff? Polite, welcoming. Just good people who clearly enjoy what they’re doing.
If you’re anywhere near Minden and you like tacos or food made by someone who actually cares… go to Zanca!!!
Highly recommend.
10/10 would drive out of the way again just for those tacos.

Authentic Mexican food . I can’t say enough about the quality. The service was so friendly…I felt like I was being served by family at home. If you love and are craving Mexican, this place is an absolute must.

This review is mine and mine alone. Dec 29/2025 the weather was horrible. One of the worst snow storms of the year. White outs, roads closed and our belly’s were empty. Trying to find somewhere to eat but everything seemed to be close but this small restaurant on the main strip or Midland.
Zanca Mexican restaurant. It was like the light beacon guiding us to safety! Warm, inviting, happy atmosphere and smiles to go around. Take a seat and we will be right with you.
My wife and I sat down in a large booth, music was playing and the smells were delightfully delicious.
Then menu displayed many different items that were for sure going to fill our every desire. We both had “ Birria tacos”
Let me tell you something, fresh, homemade, perfection in every bite! My wife and I love food but this was on another level! The homemade sauces were mild to spicy, rich and creamy! I could have squeezed the bottles right in my mouth.
Everything was delicious, made with pride. We had explained that the weather was really bad and we were just looking for something tasty. That we never expected to find a hidden gem.
If you looking for reasonable, high quality, home cooked food without breaking the bank this is the place. Without a doubt my wife and I will be back. This will become a staple in our little night adventures. Especially when you’re looking to leave happy, full and not feeling like you just got ripped off.
I am giving Zanca 9/10 only because I wish I had more room to fit more food in my belly.

Ask for the homemade hot sauce, it’s got a kick but with excellent flavour. The tortilla soup was delicious and home made. Just a good Mexican restaurant in midland.

Went here for lunch. Decor is fun, colorful. All the regular stuff you’d hope to find on the menu. I chose the fajitas. They were yummy. The portion size was ample. Service was OK. Our server never came back to check on us after we got our meals. Maybe he was too busy…

Amazing food! Good service and great spot. Definitely a good find for food in Midland!
Only issue was it was 5pm on a Sunday and the service was slow, there was no guac (I could be a lot angrier about this but the burrito was so good I’m over it) and the outside patio is a bit dull with no music or anything playing. Otherwise? Amazing! We had our pup with us and we’re able to be on the patio with her ❤️

For truly authentic Mexican food nothing fancy nothing pretentious just straight up home cooked meals. Had their speciality tacos, one of the best taco dishes I have ever had! The shrimp tacos were phenomenal. The servers were friendly and the atmosphere was enjoyable and informative! 60.00 for 2 of us to eat including beers, taxes and tips and we brought home food too!
Highly recommend! We will be back!
