We had the $10 pork dumplings for our appetizer which were small, had no flavor in the inside and the dipping sauce had too much soy sauce in it. The sushi rolls $17-26 were fresh but overpriced for the amount. The last thing we had was a lo mein beef, chicken and shrimp dish around $22. Now I really liked the way they flavored the meats and shrimp and cooked it over a grill. I asked for the sauce no to be spicy which was perfect but the noodles are the THICKEST lo mein noodles I have ever seen. This is from someone who is Japanese so if you like your noodles thick and chewy you’ll enjoy these one’s. I prefer traditional so these weren’t my favorite. Would I come back, no thank you.

We had two bowls of udon (one chicken and one tempura), one tonkatsu ramen, and a couple salmon hand rolls. The ramen soup was decent but the noodles were a bit overdone. Udon was the reverse, with decent noodles but the soup tasting rather basic, though the tempura was nicely fried. The hand roll tasted fine but the seaweed wrap was a bit soggy. The environment was clean and inviting, good for families which we saw a few of, though the staff were a little forgetful and terse.

Been to this place twice now since moving to Arlington. First time inside for a birthday dinner. The sushi and wagyu were great and fresh. My waitress was friendly and checked on us periodically. The 2nd time I went for a pick up order and for the chicken curry. The chicken was crispy and the curry was delicious (could have been spicier in my opinion) but all worth it for the price they charge for certain items.

I came across the restaurant through Groupon and I’m so glad I did. I went on a Tuesday afternoon and was seated immediately. After reviewing the many options on the menu, I ordered the salmon teriyaki bento box plus the Chesapeake roll. Since it was lunch time, I didn’t expect the bento box to be so huge. The vast sampler box was filled with so many delicious items. However, I was not a fan of the pork belly bao or the octopus ball. I really loved the Chesapeake roll, which included crab meat and yellowtail. Although I was by myself, the server constantly checked on me and asked if I needed anything. My meal exceeded my expectations and I can’t wait to return again.

I hate to leave this review, but I feel like customers need to know. We dined at Kusshi this week and, while the food and service was good – which is what we’ve come to expect – we had a very unfortunate experience. As we reached the end of our meal, we heard a clunk or some sound from above us followed by something raining down around us. I asked my wife what it was, and she said that several pieces of something had just fallen from the ceiling. It was everywhere around us. On our table, in a plate, a bowl, on the table next to us, on the ground around us, and lots on the bench seat next to her. It didn’t take long to discover that they were rat droppings. Dozens of pieces – gross! She left to wash her hands and I informed the server who then left to inform the manager. After quite a wait, she returned to let us know she had spoken with the manager and that it wasn’t their fault, it was the building, and some other words – I wasn’t listening much after that. They comped the entire meal, which was appreciated. However, the manager never approached us even though we were there for some time after it was reported. I was surprised the manager wouldn’t want to us speak to directly. Anyway, the food is good but you’ve been warned. I don’t care whose fault it is, that’s disgusting.

A great place to have sushi in the pentagon city area!
Food is always good. It’s our go to sushi place! Prices could be cheaper but are not crazy.
Salmon sashimi & salmon avocado roll are perfect on flavor but small portions! The noodle soups are good.

Chicken teriyaki was really good!

Great sushi place. Fish tastes pretty good. I went for lunch and they have some pretty good lunch deals. I also tried their inari sushi which was so tasty.

We were seated in the back (not the bar area) and it smelled like urine – no doubt because it’s so close the bathrooms. We asked if we could move to a booth but they said they weren’t safe and were being repaired and we didn’t want a high top so stayed where we were. Even though there were only 2 other tables seated at the time it was very slow service and one of our menus was missing some pages. The food (ramen and specialty sushi rolls) wasn’t bad, but wasn’t anything special either. Unfortunately I think there are tons of better spots to spend your money.

Haven’t been here in nearly two years. Conveniently located in pentagon rows complex at pentagon city. For a quick and economical lunch, this is the place. Had the seaweed salad and chicken kaarage (Japanese fried chicken). Although the breading seems different from what I am accustomed to, it tasted fine. Can’t go wrong coming here because of wide selection of sushi, sashimi, rolls, and Japanese appetizers. Service was attentive.
