Had their food at a food stand at the indo american faire and it was so delicious. Everything was reasonable priced, made fresh and so tasty. I loved the paneer tikka wrap and my husband had the samosas. The mango lassi was so perfect too.

Had very bad experience with my order pickup today at this place.
Upon my first interaction counter person told my order is already picked up just because my name might have matched with some othet pickup order. I asked can you check order list, instead of checking order logs he argued as if I am here to double dip my order pickup. Next minute kitchen staff came with my order an handed over to him which has my name. Instead of apologizing for blunder and argument with me, he further escalated this as if it was my mistake asking him to check order log.
I politely asked “what is your name buddy” his answer was ” Salman khan and do whatever you have & showed me the door with his hand gesture”.

This is one of the worst experience to have for paid customer. I would never recommend to spend your $ at this kind of staff.
Never again and I will make sure so called Salman khan that they have employed gets my feedback from up top management.

Absolutely never coming back customer..

Amazing amazing food! Vatan is my new favorite. They have great Indian food options ranging from fast food, Chinese, Punjabi, Gujarati, Sizzlers, etc at a reasonable price and good quality. The food comes just perfect as you ordered (in terms of spiciness or any modifications). I have tried Chinese, Punjabi and some fast food dishes but each dish was just perfect. It gets a little busier over the weekend and there might be some wait time— but the food is worth the wait. Customer service is great (especially Shawn and Ankit — our server). They customize the food as you’d like. Overall, we had a great experience and satisfying food. This is my next go to restaurant in East Windsor.

Khaman dhokla is a must try here, pillowy soft, very fresh & right balance of taste & flavors

Naan, tandoori roti – good
They have an extensive menu & no bread basket which is disappointing ‍♀️

Quantity of Chhole served with 2 bhature is less

Paneer makhani was okay

Methi matar malai – sabzi taste is good – but peas was barely 50% cooked which killed the taste of the sabzi

Some of the methi gota had raw batter inside

It wasn’t a busy day – we were the only ones ordering food .. and yet this blunder ..

If they improve their sabzi portion sizes & check for doneness, they could do better!

Menu is extensive .. but dishes are a hit or miss .. so it’s important to read reviews of what to order

Have visited this location several times and the food has been consistently good. Portions are good and menu is varied so lots of options for everyone.

Chaat Thali is a favorite and great to share. Recently tried the vatan special thali and was impressed with number of items it came with. Included both kadhi and two types of daal.

Minor quibbles on the food, chili potatoes were really just sautéed French fries, tastes fine but would have preferred more authentic preparation. Kathol item on the thali was same ragda as the ragda pattice. Nothing wrong but again would have preferred a more traditional item.

Service is always slow here, be aware if you’re in a hurry. They just don’t have enough people but otherwise it’s fine. Not an issue if you’re just having a laid back meal.

Overall, recommend for the taste and variety.

**Value for money, nice service, authentic taste**

Our recent family dinner at Vatan in East Windsor was an enjoyable experience, highlighted by some standout dishes that truly brought the flavors of India to our table. Here’s a detailed review of our meal:

**Manchow Soup**: This was undoubtedly the highlight of our dinner. The Manchow soup was super delicious, with a crispy texture due to noodles and robust flavor that set the bar high from the start. It’s hands down the best dish at Vatan, and perhaps the best Manchow soup I’ve had in the US.

**Veg Hakka Noodles**: These noodles were a delightful surprise, capturing the essence of Indian street food perfectly. The flavors were authentically Indian, far surpassing any other Hakka noodles we’ve tried in the States. If you’re a fan of street-style noodles, this dish is a must-try. The true Indian style sauces and chilli ️ vinegar was a perfect add on.

**Modi Sandwich**: The Modi sandwich was a hearty, heavily loaded creation filled with potatoes and paneer. While it was tasty and flavorful, its jumbo size made it a bit challenging to manage and eat. However, the effort was worth it for the burst of flavors it offered.

**Vatan Thali**: The Thali was a mixed experience. It started with a variety of appetizers, followed by an assortment of curries, khichdi, rice, ras malai, seven chapatis, and raita yogurt. While the quantity was generous, the taste was average compared to the other dishes we tried. Both my wife and I found ourselves unable to finish the Thali, despite our best efforts.
(We are not Gujarati hence that could also be a factor for us not liking the taste so much. This thali is Gujarati cuisine based)

**Service**: The service was OK – nothing exceptional but satisfactory enough to complement the meal.

Overall, the best parts of our dinner were definitely the Manchow soup and Veg Hakka noodles, which we will undoubtedly return for.

Good Indian food. Within a small complex with ample parking. We went on a Sunday where Google says it’s open at 11 and doesn’t serve food till 1230. Looks like opens at 12 as per the restaurant folks.

We all Liked the food. Will for sure go again

Before I begin my review, I want to give a huge shoutout to Shawn (employee) for going above and beyond. He handles a busy restaurant so well and shows love for what he does. His customer service is amazing and we look forward to seeing him anytime we come to Vatan. I hope he gets recognized because he truly deserves it.

As for the food, it was delicious. The wait times were slightly long but again, Shawn came and apologized, which went a long way. We didn’t mind waiting. There were some unique finds that we don’t see at typical Indian restaurants, which I loved! Below are some pictures of what we ate! Highly recommend checking it out. We drive an hour just for Vatan!

Naveen provided exceptional customer service when my friends and I visited Vatan last week. The food was excellent, with a wide variety of options to choose from. If you’re looking for great food and ambience topped with outstanding service, I highly recommend this place.

The front desk person was serving papadi, and there was a hair in the plate. Instead of properly addressing the issue, he simply removed the hair and suggested that we continue eating the same food, which we refused.

After that, an older server politely agreed to change the plate. However, when the front desk staff returned to serve us again, he slammed the plate on the table in a rude and disrespectful manner.

This behavior was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. It clearly shows a lack of basic customer service skills and an inability to handle customers appropriately in a restaurant setting.
