While the curry was very nice. I can’t quite understand how they are charging 6.50 for this (tikka paneer) smallest portion and was tasteless. The rest was lovely

An excellent curry house, my favourite to visit within Portsmouth. This is a busy curry house so I would suggest booking ahead especially for meals at the weekend.

The curry selection, especially seafood, is very extensive and of great quality. Every meal I’ve had tastes very good, I enjoy trying something new each time I visit.

Service from the staff is always top notch; so friendly and helpful.

We recently visited this Indian restaurant and had quite a mixed but overall positive experience. Upon arrival, we didn’t have a reservation as it was a Friday evening and it was 6pm ish , and the initial seating offered was less than ideal—a tiny table in a cramped corner next to a large and noisy group. However, the staff was very understanding when we pointed this out, and they quickly moved us to a lovely window-side table. This small gesture made a big difference and set the tone for the evening.

We ordered three starters. Two of them—Venison, Paneer, and King Prawns—were outstanding. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, making for an excellent start to the meal. Unfortunately, the third starter was -which was squid- undercooked. The restaurant handled this issue very gracefully, agreeing with our feedback and removing the item from our bill. Mistakes can happen in any establishment, but their willingness to address the issue without hesitation showed great customer care.
For mains, we ordered Lamb Curry and Monkfish Curry, accompanied by Vegetable and Mushroom Rice. Everything was cooked to perfection, with complex and delicious flavors that left us extremely satisfied. The curry textures and seasoning were just right, and the rice paired beautifully with the dishes.
Our server was exceptionally kind, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the evening. They provided excellent recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed with a smile. This level of service truly elevated our dining experience.
While there were minor hiccups, the restaurant’s ability to rectify them and make us feel valued as customers left a lasting impression. In any successful establishment, it’s not just about avoiding mistakes—it’s about how they’re handled. We left the restaurant happy and would definitely return in the future.

It is one of the most popular Indian restaurants in Portsmouth.
It has a large selection of traditional Indian dishes including fish, lamb, paneer, prawn and vegetarian dishes.

We ordered Kacchi biriyani and lamb jalfrezi with rice. Taste was excellent and authentic. Chef agreed to make the lamb a bit spicy as my friend requested which I appreciate .

The restaurant was bustling with life and fully packed when we visited. Not a suitable place for bringing kids, quiet dining or people with migraine I’ll say! A quiet zone would’ve solved the problem, however It’s a very popular place as it is and unlikely the owner will think about changing anything.
A bit overpriced for the quantity of the portion served

Honestly, they deserve Portsmouth’s Best Indian Restaurant award.
Every single dish was delicious, and with the right amount. Maybe a bit oily, but still delicious.
The service was good and the restaurant is nice and small. Recommended 200%.

Found this place a few weeks ago so we thought we would give it a try. Not disappointed at all. The menu looks wonderful, with so many different starters to choose from and some unusual ones at that. Never seen Venison on an Indian menu before and there beef wreng dang was amazing.

All the staff are friendly, polite and professional. Rufus our waiter was very attentive, and helped with advise about our food selection. Being vegan we wanted assurance of our choices, we felt totally reassured with Rufus.
The food was delicious, and we had a great choice on the menu. We will go back, and we will recommend.
Thank you for a great meal

Took a long time to take the order and even longer to serve. From start to finish it took almost 3 hours. Wish it had quicker order taking and quicker service. I can understand if alcoholic drinks were there then about 3 hours was ok but for us without any alcohol and straight forward menu should have done in less than an hour!! Wish the quality of food was good too!!

Previously dined here 2 years ago while on Holiday. Back to Southsea on a short family break, after harping on for 2 years about the food, I persuaded the family to visit last night. The food and atmosphere was just as I remembered. Amazing, with the family quoting it was the best Indian they had in years. I highly recommend the chefs special Biryani “pictured” Thx
