Yes, Barrios, you have a dedicated fan now! Since my last review, lots has changed about this place and only in a good way!
They added an outdoor, dog-friendly patio and a new bar inside. Each time I’ve come now, that place has been clean and inviting! The service has been great – prompt, attentive, and friendly.
But as a taco-loving Texan who now resides in TN, I have to say this is the BEST Mexican food in town. They have the best salsa, margaritas, and everything I’ve ordered, from tacos to brunch items to green chili has been yummy! While the salsa has been toned down for the ‘can’t handle the heat’ locals – just ask your server for something else with more spice. They will accommodate you. There’s some salsa Verde and tomatillo salsa that has a bit more kick and is my go-to! And they have corn tortillas too – you can just ask them to swap them out for the flour if that is your preference.
I promise, my partner and I have hit just about every Mexican place in OR – and he even agrees, Barrios is where it’s at!

I’ve been searching for an authentic Mexican food in Oak Ridge. This place hits all the right notes. Good ambience, good margaritas, and great food! I got the carnitas for dinner and the portion was huge! The rice was the perfect Mexican rice. Also, the salsa was the best I’ve had in oak ridge! I will definitely return!

WOW!! It’s so good. Greeted immediately. Margaritas were on point. We had the quesabirria, enchilada suprema, and burrito deluxe. Presentation was excellent, and quickly made. The salsa!! The salsa was spectacularly made, just the right amount of heat, not any chunks of tomato or onion, cilantro was just right. Service was great, didn’t feel rushed or forgotten. He was able to answer questions about the menu. We will definitely be back!!

When I first moved to Oak Ridge a few years back, Barrios was the very first place I had some food and a drink. It was good then, but now it has upgraded to the next level! I decided against another bar hosting trivia games and wanted to watch the Tennessee Basketball game! I could not have been more pleased than the warm welcome, putting the game on the TV for me, and a delicious margarita to top it all off…Barrios is top notch!!! I will be back! Service is as excellent!

Made my own combo , got a chicken chimichanga, tamale (not pictured), and chile relleno. It was all very good. Nice clean restaurant, friendly staff, and the bar area looks updated and modern. Nice little hidden gem in oak ridge!

Every meal we have had here has been very good. Its our new place and we go every week. We love trying different dishes each time and they do not disappoint! Our favorites are the Birria tacos, guacamole, queso sauce and street tacos. very friendly owner and team, clean and relaxed environment, cute traditional decor. Authentic tastes and dishes.

The food was very good and the service was great. My only complaint is that on Saturday they have no lunch specials. Usually that is not a big deal. In this care though it takes off almost half of their menu. There is an entire page of combos that are unavailable because it is the weekend. You end up paying away too much just to eat lunch and lose much of the variety. I will say that the food, presentation, and service is excellent. We will be back, but if we go on the weekend, it will be for dinner.
Edit: Just found out you can order the lunch menu on Saturday for an extra $1. I wish we would have known that when we were there! Thank you for the correction, Barrios.
