Went inside for the first time today and I was blown away by the collection but mostly by the family that runs it all. I’m pretty new to the nuances of wine but Phillippe and his kind son were very enthusiastic to help and answer the many questions I had asked. They are full of knowledge and happy to teach a novice like myself. Phillippe was born and raised in France and migrated over the pond 30yrs ago. Lafayette is nothing less than blessed to have such a connoisseur and kind man in its community. Thank you again for the help today.

Have been coming to Philippe’s for about a year. I should have rated much sooner than this. I love this place! Brent, one of the owners, is fantastic! He and the staff truly know their product. There’s a terrific selection. Brent even was able to help me find a wine that my wife loves! (She never liked wine till now.) Even if you’re just visiting Lafayette, stop by and browse a well-cultivated selection from around the world. This is a Lafayette gem!!

This has got to be one of my favorite wine stores anywhere in the country! There’s a great selection; wines from many different regions, at all different price points. But the real star is Philippe himself. Of course he’ll help you find the perfect wine, but he’ll also entertain and educate you. He’s as happy finding you a $15 bottle as he is finding you a $50 one. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Lafayette is lucky to have a wine shop that is so unique. While you can certainly get your fill of everyday more well known American wines, Philippe’s offers unique selections of rare French, Spanish, and Italian wines. And don’t be intimidated because Philippe himself is always available to point you in the right direction. Just ask a few questions and next thing you know Philippe is pulling out his maps to tell you all he knows about a new wine you have never tried. When I travel around the country it constantly reminds me that a shop like this is truly hard to find. Lafayette once again, is lucky to have it.

Excellent wine selection and very knowledgeable staff. They were able to explain not only differences in varietals but differences in how regions craft wine from the same grapes (such as the difference between a California Cabernet Franc and a Loire Valley Cabernet Franc). Good sales too. Get on their email list.

The owners are French from Bourgogne, they are really kind and deliver good advices concerning Wine and other beverage from all over the world. Also there is a small deli with french gourmet products such as French cheese.
