We went for dinner tonight (Friday night) and were seated immediately. Service was fast and attentive throughout the meal. For drinks, both my friend and I ordered the Lavender Coal Chute, which was quite good. It consisted of gin, lavender simple syrup, lemon juice, and activated charcoal, and it was definitely the highlight of the evening.
For appetizers, my entrée came with the choice of a garden or Caesar salad, and I opted for the garden salad with balsamic dressing. It was very standard. We also shared an order of potato skins, which were generally tasty, but the steak cubes on top were hit or miss—several pieces were mostly gristle. Still, overall, the dish was decent.
For our main courses, my friend ordered the beet salad with chicken. The portion was quite small (in my opinion), and there weren’t many beets included. I had the spaghetti squash with chicken, which was easily enough food for two people. The harissa-coconut cream sauce was very good, and the chicken itself was well prepared. The seasonal vegetables, however, were just okay. The spaghetti squash was a bit too al dente—the skin hadn’t fully released the squash, making it somewhat difficult to eat.
Overall, the meal wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either.
Price-wise, everything felt very expensive for what was offered. This may not be the best choice if you’re dining on a tight budget.
As for the atmosphere, it was a fun spot overall. The dining room we were seated in appears to function as an outdoor seating area during the summer that’s enclosed for the winter. It was comfortable—if maybe a little too warm—and definitely had a cozy vibe.
Unfortunately, we were seated next to several large families with lots of small children, and it became very loud. I have a small child myself, and I choose not to bring him to restaurants because I know how disruptive that can be to other diners. At one point, the noise level was high enough that we couldn’t comfortably have a conversation.
There was some live Christmas music, good vibes, and great drinks. We are heading back for dinner again in two days it was so good!
Service was good and attentive. We were seated in the front dining area and it was too noisy even at capacity. Food didn’t take as long as expected since we’re expecting to wait since that was what the other reviews stated. It was nice that they had a kids menu. The food was good. Fresh and hot. Only negatives were a fry burger probably due to being part buffalo and slightly on the pricey side for being in Roslyn. We did end up with a lot of fries since everything came with them. I did appreciate the option of show string fries and thick fries and being able to sub for salad, soup, or sweet potato fries. I’d recommend the thick fries.
Overall, it was a nice meal with friends and service was always there when you needed.
Side were clean and well lit. I’d give a 5 star but I get the prices were high. The base prices seemed fine but my dining partner and I both opted out of fries and for a healthier side option and there’s a 5$ up charge for that. The French dip sandwich and fried chicken sandwich were quite good.
