Good Kacchi Biriyani & Great Fish Market
We recently visited Shalimar Supermarket Cafe and tried their Goat Kacchi Biriyani. They have two options: a Pakistani-style Goat Biriyani ($12.99) and the Bangladeshi-style Goat Kacchi ($14.99), which is what we went for.
The Kacchi Biriyani itself was good. It wasn’t anything spectacular or special, but it was definitely enjoyable and not bad at all. The best part was the portion size—it’s very generous. I felt full after eating only about 60% of the serving, so you definitely get your money’s worth and will likely have leftovers.
The atmosphere was kid-friendly, which was a plus.
A huge bonus is the attached supermarket. After our meal, we did some shopping and bought fish. They have a fantastic selection, especially if you’re looking for all kinds of Bangladeshi fish.
Overall, I’d recommend Shalimar as a solid all-in-one stop. You can get a filling, enjoyable meal and then conveniently stock up on hard-to-find groceries right after.

I purchased beef on sept 9, 2025 worth 70 dollars but ended up getting black colour meat and that too rotten n smelly. When I reached the store back for the exchange or return then refused to do it saying its good to have. Worst experience never go n purchase from them.

Very dry murag pulao it was not any flavor and taste . Service is terrible . I order hot tea came to me not hot enough as a hot tea. Also beef curry taste is terrible, confusing am i eating beef or goat .

I have been here quite a few times. I’m their Sunday regular. Their food has been amazing each and every time. I’m a softie for the chicken biryani, but have been expanding my menu. Last week I tried the beef mezban curry and bihari kebab was so great! It’s not the typical “salt and pepper is the only seasoning we have” restaurant. They use cilantro, peppers, sauce and everything. Their biryani rice even had flavor. My friend had the beef Tehari which she loves so much. I added the photo to show how great it looks and how it’s set up. Skip the restaurants that’s in front of it and come here!! You will not regret it!

Alert!!! The owner is racist and carry horrible attitude towards his customer. Their Hilsha fish curry is rotten and smells bad. I have kindly informed and the bald guy started arguing, i told him we came from New York and we eat this often so we can tell its not good. His rude reply was we don’t sell here by comparing. The atmosphere is dirty and not somewhere I would take my family. We never asked for free food and did throw the fishes which we paid. Service was slow and not friendly. Should be reported to health department. Visitors from new york should avoid this place. He has some personal issues about new Yorkers. An entrepreneur/ businessman who cannot take complaint about his service cannot go far.

Fish that sold me yesterday (09/13/2025) it’s not good I paid $48 for two-Elisa $10.99 lb My wife cook it smell like last year fish no test. in grocerie customer service not quick. I think there was so busy. Inside the grocery guys work in there very good people. I was buying from Shalimar qurbani package .I was buying some qurbani meet. call Shalimar store yesterday somebody was answering and he say, your meat is ready by 6:00 pm . I couldn’t make it yesterday & I was calling store this morning and say somebody told me it’s ready by 6:00 p.m. & guy name Fahim (owner) he say to me nobody from his store tell me about 6:00 p.m. and I just make it up. I tried to remind him why your customer have to make things up but he was talking to me disrespectfully whole time.
Some reason he was so disrespectful. He was continuously saying I never call yesterday I’m just making up. I don’t know why he said that. I read his customer review with He’s customers, anyway when customer go to Shalimar supermarket store avoid this store owner Fahim. All I want my meat, if not ready then I can pick it up later time or date no issue. your customer was asking some information and you store owner was totally rude and disrespectful. wasn’t expecting this kind of behavior from store owner. I still like that store product, they have good quality beef mutton chicken and I will go and shop again. Thank you.

I with some of my friends went there. We ordered Beef Tehari and Tea. It was really good though it was a little bit oily too! But, it was tasty. I felt like I was in Bangladesh. We ordered Beef Tribe (take out) too! It was delicious.
